I can't think of anything better than packing a rucksack and venturing off to somewhere new and unknown. I love sharing my travel experiences with fellow travellers, sharing top tips and highlights for our next trips. My most memorable trip was with my Mum in Europe which I designed myself. Lasting 38 days, it was a mini 'Grand Tour' which had my Mum smiling for days!
I ascertained that travel would be my hobby for life from the tender age of 10 when I did my first trip with my grandpa to Guilin, China. Since then I have left footprints in 45 countries, most of them in Europe and Asia! I especially love Europe because it offers everything that a traveller needs – delicious cuisine in Italy, outdoor adventure in Iceland, amazing history in eastern Europe, fashion in London, Milan and Paris and I experienced the most amazing sunrise in the Tuscan countryside… Out from Europe, my other favourites are Japan and South Africa.
I believe that the most important thing about travelling is the connection one has with the host country, rather than just working through a checklist of the ‘must sees’.

Travel nuggets
For families with young kids travelling to northern Europe who are not used to the cold, do take note that there can be a dramatic temperature drop of up to -20 degrees Celsius in Lapland.
During summer months in Japan (July & August), do not miss the firework shows held across the country. Immerse yourself in the exuberant atmosphere as you mingle amongst locals wearing Yukata (Japanese traditional summer kimono).
Don't forget to pack your waterproof shoes, rain coat and backpack when visiting Victoria Falls as it will literally rain on you. Be prepared to get wet!
