Situated just south of the equator, the Seychelles have a warm tropical climate. The consistently warm tropical weather makes the Seychelles a good year round destination.
There is little fluctuation in warmth, with temperatures ranging from 24C to 31C all year round. From May to October a southeast trade wind can bring marginally cooler weather and fresh breezes. From November to March the northwest monsoon wind blows, typically raising temperature and humidity. December and January are the wettest months, but the rain falls in short sharp bursts before the sun comes out again.

This is one of my favourite hotels in the Seychelles. I love how personal they make your stay and your dedicated butler is so well trained in many aspects - not only looking after you, they will also take care of your children, clean your room, cook your breakfast and offer all sorts of help with making it an incredible holiday experience. Maia offers an intuitive service - knowing what guests want and need before they even know themselves. Although a stay at Maia comes with quite a high price tag, it offers good value when you take into account that it is All Inclusive and offers some of the best service standards. I actually felt quite emotional at this hotel!

Maia is a superb hotel offering a totally luxurious experience. Anything you can think of is taken care of by your personal butler, and the views from the villas are superb. I personally love the villas that are on the beach, offering direct access onto the soft sandy beach, but your own private garden to relax in the shade of a tree.

At Maia the whole concept is about personalising your stay so that it is perfect for you, each villa is assigned its own butler and the butler is chosen for you in advance of your arrival to suit you and your requirements. For example if you are staying with young children a butler who is also good with providing childcare will be assigned to you, also depending on the type of service you like some guests like to have the full service with the butler there around the clock to do things like un pack for you, iron, pour drinks etc whereas others might prefer a more discreet service just when they request it, whatever your requirements their is a butler for you.
I was very impressed when I stayed here I was sent a guest profile form prior to my arrival and when I entered my villa my butler had my favourite music playing, my choice of drinks stocked even my choice of feather pillows on my bed! it is magical a stay here and the butler makes everything just so seamless by pre empting your needs and surprising you with little touches - such as for my colleague who enjoyed sketching and painting he bought a box of watercolours and an easel which was just a lovely surprise!
After a stay here you will leave feeling thoroughly pampered and relaxed!

The unique dining concept is wherever, whenever, whatever. There are no meal times, making a stay here truly flexible and has the luxury of being at your own leisure for meal times. Dine in the privacy of your own villa, on the beach, in the restaurant, on the hillside or wherever else you can think of! For accommodation you have the choice between beach and hillside. The beach villas give you direct access to the sandy beach whereas; the hillside villas offer you complete privacy and spectacular uninterrupted views out to sea and the horizon. The main pool is large and quiet, and the spa is very relaxing, which makes Maia the perfect couples retreat.

Exceptionally personalised service with every villa comes with your own butler who is there to meet any need. With the hotel's motto being 'eat wherever, whenever or whatever' they will arrange everything for you. The hotel has a very calming atmosphere and families are also welcome but no kids club on offer.

All categories of accommodation at Maia offers butler service. They work with the guest to see what they want to do on their holidays. Apart from the butler no one else can access the villa unless they have advance permission. Maia is all about flexibility - and to enjoy the experience. You can dine anywhere, in your villa, on the beach, or even on a helipad.Whenever, no set times for meals, when you wake up and want breakfast you just let them know.

Uber Exclusive. The best of the best. This is over the top luxury yet very chic, discreet and special. Stay at Maia and you will be rubbing shoulders with the Arab Royal families and Russian aristocracy. They fly their private jets in here for a week of private pampering and indulgence.
This really is the place to be and nothing is too much trouble. The General Manager proudly explained that if guests want the boutique opened at 3am because they want to do some shopping, that is exactly what will be done, no questions asked. This is what Maia is all around.
All the villas are very private and beautifully appointed with lots of space and stunning furnishings. Private pools of course and outdoor baths, day beds and gardens. All are generally the same in size and style, the only difference is the positioning. Some open out right on to the beach whereas others have fantastic views out to sea but are a long walk to the beach. Maia also has Signature villas which have lots of little extras such as complimentary manicures and pedicures, laundry service and private butler.
The spa here is amazing with La Praire products and an incredible location with a backdrop of granite rocks and lush forest, very tranquil and all outside.
The gardens surrounding Maia itself are very lush and beautiful and very well kept.
The only negative I could find about Maia is as it is all set on a hill the walk to your villa can be very steep. They have a buggy service of course but as the hills are so steep this is a petrol buggy rather than electric, theyre rather noisy which is not good for such a tranquil spot.
That aside, you just cant fault this place. The price tag is immense but you get what you pay for, a totally amazing experience. Twin Maia with Fregate or North Island for the holiday of a lifetime!
