Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

In the southern half of Australia the seasons are the opposite of those in the northern hemisphere: spring comes in September, summer is from December to February, autumn runs from March to May, and winter begins in June.

Sydney is great to visit year round but if you want warm sun and dry weather it is best to try between November and April. Their winter months of May - October usually have mild weather so you can still enjoy all the sights.

Insider's View

Definitely consider staying in an Opera View Room, you literally have the feeling of being an arms length away from the iconic Opera House, and watching the sunrise over it in the morning is breath taking.

The Deluxe Opera Rooms are a great choice as they are particularly spacious and offer spectacular views across the Harbour and the Sydney Opera House from your private balcony.

Having breakfast at the Dining Room when the weather is good… the huge sliding doors are opened up and you feel like you are sitting on an alfresco terrace with just the harbour and Opera House in front of you – spectacular!

Interconnecting rooms are available, which are a great option for families staying in Sydney.

After an extensive refurbishment in 2012, the property is looking better than ever! With stunning new suites on the rooftop, a brand new pool with great views of the bridge and as ever, immaculate attention to detail, the Park Hyatt is my favourite address for a stay in Sydney.

After a busy day seeing the sights, head to the ultra modern rooftop pool and spa - total bliss!

In my opinion, Park Hyatt Sydney is arguably the best hotel in the city. During a recent stay here, I was blown away by the impeccable service, spacious bedrooms and, of course, the spectacular views across to the Sydney Harbour and Opera House. Although the property is part of the Park Hyatt chain, with just 155 rooms and suites, it feels much more like a boutique hotel.

In terms of accommodation, I would strongly suggest opting for an Opera Room where, as the name suggests, you are met with views of the world-famous Opera House from the comfort of your room and private balcony. The bedrooms are very well equipped with all the mod-cons you could need; and interconnecting rooms are also available for families with younger children.

After a day exploring the city, the Park Hyatt is a great property to head back to and relax at. There is a beautiful rooftop swimming pool which offers views up to the Sydney Bridge, along with a well-equipped gym and spa facilities. The food here is also well worth noting... For those wanting something a little more formal, The Dining Room is a great option.

After a pretty long and exhausting flight, I had arrived in Sydney, and whisked away to my new home for the night - the Park Hyatt... And what a home it was! From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I knew I wasn't going to want to leave. After a seamless check-in, I was whisked up to my room which was spacious, well designed not to mention, boasting the most mesmerising views of the impressive Opera House. This was my first time to Australia, let alone Sydney, and to have a totally uninterrupted view of this iconic landmark was something I will never forget. It really does tick all the boxes, but for me the best thing about it is that it has the faultless service of a big 5* hotel, but with only 155 it really has a boutique feel to it. By far the best address in Sydney!

The reason I love the Park Hyatt, as so many others do, is the fantastic location in the Rocks area, almost under the bridge and looking out with spectacular Opera and Harbour views. No other hotel is so close to these icons and lying in bed looking out over the sparkling water is pretty special. Also, unlike some of the larger chain hotels, there are a relatively small number of rooms, making the service more personal. It is a shame the pool (on the rooftop) isn’t a bit bigger but that is my only criticism. That and the cost as it is the most expensive hotel, but well worth it in my opinion. Instead of taking a conventional cab, take a water taxi from the decking outside the hotel to any other point on the harbour - the perfect way to make the most of the stunning harbour.
