Visit the remarkable churches and monasteries of Suzdal. Dating from the 11th to the 13th centuries, some of them are UNESCO listed as fine examples of ancient Russian architecture. The 12th century kremlin is a collection of houses and churches, including the striking cathedral. The Nativity of the Virgin Cathedral has blue domes set atop its white stone building and the inside is a canvas of brightly coloured frescoesThe Museum of Wooden Architecture and Peasant Life is an open-air museum which provides an insight into Rusian country life. There are the 18th century churches, the Church of the Transfiguration and the Church of the Resurrection, as well as intricately crafted wooden houses. There are also windmills and barns, old tools on show and demonstrations of traditional crafts like toy carving, weaving and pottery.
A traditional lunch will be served at the home of a local villager.
