Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

The main tourist season is between June and August, when the weather is the warmest. Standout seasons to visit Moscow are late spring (May or June) and early autumn (September or October), when the city’s parks are filled with flowering trees or colourful leaves.

The deepest, darkest part of winter is undeniably cold but if you are prepared it can be an adventure. Furs and vodka keep people warm and snow-covered landscapes are picturesque. A solid snowpack covers the ground from November to March. The city gets fired up to ring in the New Year, when Muscovites emerge from their warm homes into the winter night for free concerts and fireworks.

Insider's View

Despite being part of a chain the Ararat has retained much of its heritage as an Armenian-run luxury option in the city centre. it must be the only Park Hyatt with an Armenian chapel within the building!

In the summer try one of the delicious homemade raspberry lemonades and enjoy it on the roof terrace while you look out over the whole city - so refreshing after a days sightseeing!

The attention to detail is incredible - there is even a special knob on the door for ladies to hang their handbags whilst looking for the room key!

The Ararat Park Hyatt Hotel is a very luxurious property, well located in a quiet side street in the centre of the city. It is within easy reach of the Kremlin and Red Square, as well as the newly reopened Bolshoi Theatre.

Although part of the Park Hyatt chain, the Ararat hotel has its own history and character that sets is aside from other hotels. Founded by a well to do Armenian family, it still has an Armenian chapel on the top floor and the restaurant serves the best Armenian specialities in town!

The hotel, which opened in 2001, has a very modern and stylish interior behind its historic 19th century facade. The clever use of glass in the atrium means the interiors are filled with natural light.

The guest rooms and suites are very tastefully decorated and feature plush linens and feather duvets as well as views over either the gardens, the courtyard, the Neglinnaya boulevard, or the Bolshoi Theatre.

The hotel has three restaurants which you can choose to dine at. They focus on Armenian, Russian, European and Japanese inspired dishes.

The rooms are beautifully designed with all natural materials making them a really relaxing haven to come back to after a busy day in the city. The pool in the spa is amazing, not to mention the rooftop bar! Delicious food and lots of exciting drinks and cocktails - the service is impeccable.

The standard of service at the Ararat Hotel was very impressive, and I loved the top floor conservatory bar with its spectacular views over the city.
