Nordic climate - May, June and July are the driest months of the year. Mid-June to August is high season, but most highland tours don’t operate until July because of snow. At other times, many tourist facilities outside Reykjavík are closed. From September through March, the night is dark enough to see the Aurora Borealis. From mid-March to the beginning of June Deplar Farm is used exclusively as a heli-skiing destination.

Itinerary

Day 1-3

Reykjavik

Your Icelandic sojourn begins in the vibrant city of Reykjavik, where the contemporary elegance of the The Reykjavik EDITION awaits. Over the next two days, let an expert local guide unveil the secrets of the Golden Circle, a mesmerising circuit that encapsulates the essence of Icelandic natural beauty. Visit the UNESCO-listed Thingvellir National Park,  where the chance to snorkel between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates converge (summer only). Enjoy a rejuvenating dip in the Blue Lagoon's geothermal waters. A city tour of Reykjavik further enriches your understanding of Iceland's colourful history and dynamic urban culture,  ensuring an enriching start to your luxury adventure.

The Reykjavik EDITION combines a sophisticated modern luxury experience in one of the world’s most sustainable capitals. The striking building airs a unique ambience and style, with the exterior created from timber charred black using an ancient Japanese technique combined with blackened steel frames depicting Iceland’s lava landscape. The hotel oozes a laid-back luxury vibe with an edgy social scene, with Michelin star restaurants, bars, underground club, night spa and alfresco dining. Each of the 253 rooms and suites, including a stunning Penthouse with panoramic views, have been designed as intimate and stylish retreats. Warm palettes of ash wood and pale grey oak are embellished with bespoke furniture, copper details, faux fur rugs, and artwork and accessories from local artisan crafters. Some of the rooms have their own outdoor terraces, while most have their beds facing floor-to-ceiling windows that frame various views of the surrounding neighbourhood.

Day 6-8

Golden Circle, Iceland

Continue your Icelandic adventure at the Torfhús Retreat, a sanctuary nestled amidst the untamed beauty of southern Iceland. Here, minimal light pollution creates the perfect conditions for stargazing and hunting for the Northern Lights as you to marvel at the celestial wonders of the Arctic night sky. Embark on a super jeep tour across rugged terrain, exploring hard-to-reach glacial rivers, majestic volcanoes, and cascading waterfalls. Hike a glacier and tour an ice cave before enjoying a private heli-tour over glowing lava fields, volcanoes, glaciers, and mountains: this is sure to be an unforgettable experience for nature enthusiasts and thrill-seekers alike.

Torfhus Retreat blends seamlessly into the landscape with its turf roofs and locally-sourced stone. Built in the style of the traditional Icelandic turf houses, this sustainable property is powered solely by geothermal and hydroelectric energy, with a focus on leaving as minimal an impact as possible. There are 10 stand-alone Torfhus, each with two bedrooms, a spacious living room and a fully-equipped kitchenette. Sleeping up to four guests, these are ideal options for families or groups of friends travelling together. Outside, each of the Torfhus has its own private plunge pool, constructed with columnar basalt and geothermally heated. The Torfhus and Torfbaer are centred around the Langhus, inspired by the Viking long houses of the past.
