The climate in Puglia is generally warm sunny and dry in April/May and again in October with the risk of the odd shower of rain. Sometimes it can be cool in the evenings. By June the weather settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings especially in July and August when it can get a bit humid. Rain is unlikely but it can happen from time to time. June and September are particularly pleasurable months.

Masseria Torre Coccaro is a fabulous 5 star retreat in Puglia, built from the remnants of a fortified house. It is nestled along the Adriatic coast with access to its own beach club.
The hotel features 39 rooms and suites, all of which have been individually designed, lending the property a boutique feel. The property was originally built as a fortified country house in the 17th century and this can be seen throughout the building by its rustic beauty.
The main restaurant at Masseria is Restaurant Egnathia and is located in what was once the stables, but since its renovation has welcomed many an enthusiastic diner. The original star vaulted ceilings have been retained and they lend an air of Medieval charm to the building. The other 3 are Restaurant le Palme of Masseria Maizza which serves more Puglian cuisine; Restaurant Cabana by the pool offering light dishes; and Coccaro Beach Club which specialises in fresh fish, sushi and pizza.
The beach club has been voted one of the top 10 beaches in the Mediterranean is a 10 minute shuttle ride away. It's a long stretch of sandy beach with a wooden terrace dotted with white tents and gazeboes. There is a lounge area where you can have massages and treatments under the tents and they also have a boutique clothing shop.
The Spa at the Masseria Torre Coccaro has been built in the natural caves that sit on the outskirts of part of the estate. There is an underground pool, Turkish baths and treatment rooms, which present an array of massages and treatments for even the most weary of travellers.
The Masseria Torre Coccaro is a family friendly property and during the summer months has a kids club which will take care of the little ones whilst you lounge by the pool, play a game of tennis or round of golf or even go horse riding along the nearby beach.
Each of the 39 rooms at Masseria Torre Coccaro have been individually designed and all have their own unique charm. The elegant, traditional style has modern touches and has been beautifully converted from its original state.
Most rooms surround the courtyard, which gives a feel of how the property once was and although it has been beautifully renovated still hints towards the history of this area, where grapes have been growing since 1500.
|Orange Garden Suite||
This spacious room covers 100 square metres and has its own private orange garden which is over 200 square metres. The suite also comes complete with its own private heated pool, large Jacuzzi in the room, ornate fireplace and welcoming lounge.
This suite is set over 60 square metres with a private terrace of 60 square metres. The suite has a king size bed, a lounge with Sky TV and fantastic views of the olive groves.
The Tower Suite is spacious, covering over 60 square metres and has a private balcony with a stunning sea view and a bathroom with a luxurious Jacuzzi. It is located in the top floor of the tower of the hotel and has a large living room with a fireplace and dining table and a luxurious bedroom with Sky TV.
The chapel suite is very spacious covering 80 square metres and is located next to the traditional church in the main courtyard. There is a large lounge room with vaulted ceilings and a bedroom with panoramic sea views. The terrace is 60 square metres and has views of the countryside, and your own dining table, sun beds and hammocks all covered by a traditional pergola.
|Junior Suite Deluxe||
There are 2 Junior Suites located in the top floor of the tower, both have a large bathroom complete with a Jacuzzi. The suites are 48 square metres and have their own balcony with sea views. There is a another Junior Suite available located in the antique rock with a private garden with sun beds.
These elegant suites are located in the old courtyard and have ornate fireplaces, and small gardens with porches. Others are located in the tower with small balconies with sea views or views of the olive groves. Some are also located in the main courtyard with their own private porch and high ceilings. They all start at 45 square metres.
These rooms are situated in the main courtyard with a private porch and garden with a pretty seating area for breakfast. Each room is 40 square metres and has a king size bed and luxurious bathroom with a bathtub.
The superior rooms are situated in the estate overlooking the olive groves. The rooms start at 30 square metres and have their own private garden.
Children are more than welcome at the Masseria Torre Coccaro and throughout the summer months, June-September, there is a kids club to look after your little ones while you soak up the rays by the pool, play tennis or simply enjoy some me time. Children under 2 years of age stay at the hotel for free and a babysitting service is available if you fancy a romantic evening without the kids.
The Masseria Torre Coccaro is renowned for its fantastic cuisine. The hotel has four restaurants to choose from and a hotel bar. Cooking classes can also be provided for those wanting to learn the delights of Italian cookery.
The Restaurant Gourmet offers classical Puglian dishes, with produce from the local area. It is located in the recently renovated stables and has delicacies which include fresh fish, burrata from local farms and meat from the Masseria Estate.
The Restaurant Cabana is the pool bar, it has a selection of lighter bites for during the day.
The restaurant Le Palme is located in the Masseria Torre Maizza, the local sister hotel, and is a more creative affair. The menu is a fusion of Asian and Italian cuisine and has been thought up by the Italian Champion of Mediterranean cuisine, Vito Giannuzzi.
Perhaps the most jaw dropping of the restaurants is the Coccaro Beach Club. With panoramic views of the Adriatic, fresh fish, sushi and an Oyster bar, it truly is the perfect place for that holiday feeling.
