Best time to Visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit
Salalah, and the Dhofar region in general, has its own microclimate with the 'khareef', or southeast monsoon, hitting the area from mid-June to mid-September. The result is that the Dhofar region is lush and green during and for some time after the khareef. The best time to visit is at the end of September and during October as the climate is not too hot, the rains should have passed, and temperatures are in the high-20s to low-30s, but the lushness remains making the area beautifully green. Temperatures in this area don't rise much above the low-30s meaning that it is bearable year-round.
Insider's View
To start planning your holiday to Juweira Boutique Hotel
Description
With its own marina, private beach and just 65 rooms, Juweira Boutique Hotel is well-located for guests looking to explore Salalah and the Dhofar region, while staying in comfort and being able to enjoy the hotel's excellent facilities.
The Dhofar region is located in the south of Oman, with the city of Salalah itself being located on the coast, and is well known for its unique weather pattern which characterises the area. In complete contrast to the interior and north of Oman, the Dhofar region is much more tropical with coconut trees, banana plants and frankincense trees, rather than the date palms seen elsewhere in the country.
Juweira Boutique Hotel, part of the Salalah Beach development in Oman's southern region of Dhofar, is ideal for families and couples alike. It is based on a marina concept with lots to do outside the hotel, including shops and external restaurants. The hotel has just 65 rooms and suites, so it retains an intimate atmosphere, without guests being limited to Juweira. Juweira Boutique Hotel is contemporary in style with thoughtfully designed rooms and spacious suites.
There are two restaurants, with Al Fanar offering international and regional cuisine in a light and modern atmosphere, with additional seating outside on the terrace. As Sammak is a seafood restaurant, reached by a bridge taking guests to the other side of the small marina. It serves simple and fresh fish and seafood, offering beautiful views of the marina and the sea. Al Boom Pool Bar offers snacks and drinks all day.
There is a fitness centre with a sauna and steam room, two outdoor swimming pools as well as a children's pool and a private beach a short walk from the hotel. Plenty of activities can be arranged, such as snorkelling, diving or boat trips, sightseeing in the local area, and a range of watersports.
Accommodation
Juweira Boutique Hotel has 64 guest rooms, of which 43 are Juweira Rooms, four are Family Rooms, and 17 are Marina Suites. Views from the rooms are either over the lagoon or the marina. Juweira Rooms are 50 sq.metres in size while Marina Suites are 90 sq.metres in size. Family Rooms are 60 sq.metres in size and can accommodate a family of four.

Facilities
Juweira Boutique Hotel has two restaurants: Al Fanar offering international and regional cuisine in light and refreshing surroundings, with seating both inside and outside; and As Samak, which serves fresh and simple seafood, on the other side of the marina reached by a small bridge from the hotel. There is also a pool-side bar, Al Boom, which serves light snacks and drinks all day.
There are two swimming pools at Juweira Boutique Hotel, as well as a children's pool. There is also a fitness centre with modern gym equipment, sauna and steam rooms. The hotel has a private beach which is accessible all year round.
Activities
Juweira Boutique Hotel is a tranquil escape on the outskirts of Salalah, where guests can relax on the beach or by the swimming pools. Sightseeing to the surrounding region can be organised by Scott Dunn, with trips to the Museum of the Frankincense Land, the fascinating archaeological site of Khor Rori, and around the city of Salalah to the markets.
Reviews
Clare Monro (Staff)
This hotel is definitely the best option in Salalah and its surrounds. While not actually beachfront, the beach is just a short stroll away, there are two lovely swimming pools (one which is only open to adults) and two restaurants. When the rest of the Salalah Beach development is up and running, there will be plenty more dining options in the other hotels. For now, Al Fanar serves delicious cuisine and the fish restaurant has really fresh local seafood.
