Best time to Visit
Good time to visit
Average time to visit
Year round destination. Because the Hill Country it so high up it rarely gets unbearably hot. The months of December to April are probably the best time to visit, as temperatures rise to around 28C during the day but cool down at night. During the monsoon season from October to December you can expect heavy downpours. June to September are the driest months here, when there’s almost no rain at all.

Description
Clinging to a tea covered hill, with beautiful views over the hill country Nine Skies offers an intimate stay in a newly refurbished tea bungalow.
Opened in September 2018, this five bedroom bungalow, located near Demodera Railway Station close to Ella, dates back to the colonial era which is clearly reflected in its heritage design. Here beautiful art pieces and artefacts work seamlessly aside modern amenities, providing a unique luxury experience and home away from home feel.
Each bungalow opens up on to a the hotels garden terrace with stunning views across the valley. The property has three room types and each room is serviced by a private butler. Two of the bungalows being able to interconnect the property is a great option for families. Our favourite room is the Ella Rock Suite which has a king sized poster bed and private veranda.
All meals and drinks are included in your stay at Nine Skies and this includes daily afternoon tea and the Planter's Lunch which is a selection of daily curries.
For those warmer days take a dip into the properties pool located in the garden to take full advantage of the views including the famous Demodera Loop.
Accommodation
Nine Skies boasts five bedrooms and suites, all of which are beautifully furnished and also benefit from private garden terraces. Each bedroom has a four poster bed and all rooms have large bathrooms with a free standing bath. Two rooms can also be connected to make the perfect set up for a family.

Children of all ages are welcome and cots are provided for under 2's. Babysitting can also be organised before check in.
Facilities
Nine Skies is an all-inclusive property so all meals and drinks including alcohol are already taken care off. The breakfast at Nine Skies is a highlight of anyone's stay and of course includes the traditional Sri Lanka pancake, hopper. Ask your private butler and snacks throughout the day can also be arranged and all butlers are more than happy to mix up your favourite cocktails to enjoy in your sitting room or veranda.
Located at the front of the property with views over the valley is the infinity swimming pool which is perfect to cool off in after a few hours trekking.
