Start early this morning and take a boat cruise up the Kinabatangan River to the Kelenanap Oxbow Lake. The early morning is a great time to spot wildlife, and experience the rainforest coming alive as the sun rises.
The Kinabatangan River is the second longest river in Malaysia, winding 560 kilometres from the mountains in southwest Sabah, flowing out into the Sulu Sea. The lower Kinabatangan River is a protected area, featuring oxbow lakes and mangrove swamps which are rich with wildlife.
