Alaska is best visited during the summer months (May to September), when the days are longest and the temperatures are at their peak. This season is ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking, rafting and flightseeing and also coincides with the salmon run and the best times to travel to the wilderness regions.

Experience Alaska's highlights on a week-long trip to the Last Frontier. Visit the spectacular Denali National Park, cruise along the Kenai Fjords and walk across glaciers as you take in the raw, natural beauty of untouched Alaska.

  1. Days 1-2: Anchorage

    Begin your Alaska adventure with a night in Anchorage, an urban enclave, surrounded by wilderness and vast mountain ranges. It is also the gateway to many of the states national parks and often visitors first or last stop on their trip to Alaska.With just one night here, we've included a visit to Anchorage Museum and Native Heritage Centre, with the opportunity to learn about the culture through local guides, story-telling and craft-making.

    Accommodation: Hotel Captain Cook (1 night)

  2. Days 2-4: Seward, Kenai Peninsula

    The next day, collect your hire car and self drive two hours south to Seward, where you will spend two nights exploring the Kenai Peninsula. During your stay, opt to add on a guided ice hike to Exit Glacier with a combination of back-country hiking and ice exploring, its an experience for the adventurous. Alternatively, we can organise sea kayaking on Resurrection Bay. The next day, we've included a full day out on the water as you experience the Kenai Fjords and Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge, on an unforgettable cruise. Journey past breathtaking glaciers, and keep your binoculars at the ready for orcas, humpbacks, sea otters and sea birds including puffins.

    Accommodation: Seward Windsong Lodge (2 nights)

  3. Days 4-5: Denali and Alaskan Wilderness

    Heading north, drive four and a half hours to the small town of Talkeetna. You only have one night here to enjoy the scenery en route to Denali, but there will be plenty of time for some adventure. There's the option to go zip-lining, white water rafting or even hiking on the trails surrounding the cabins. Whatever you chose to do, the imposing Mount Denali as your backdrop is sure to get you excited about your next few days in Denali National Park.

    Accommodation: Talkeetna Cabins (1 night)

  4. Days 5-7: Denali and Alaskan Wilderness

    Leaving Talkeetna, head up to Denali National Park, a true highlight of any visit to Alaska. The drive should take two and a half hours and you should leave plenty of time to soak in all of the scenery. We've included a full day tour exploring the park with a guide who will you all about the wild landscapes, history and culture of Alaska's most famed national park. This tour will be on a shared group basis on board a bus (no private vehicles are allowed inside the park) and there will be plenty of time for photography and wildlife observation. After two nights here, it's time to wave goodbye to Alaska's scenic beauty and drive four hours to Anchorage to fly home. 

    Accommodation: Denali Cabins (2 nights)
