Surrounded with fantastic scenery and bursting with mesmerising architecture, each building in Oslo has its own historical legacy. Highlights include Stortinget, where the Norwegian Parliament sits, and the Royal Palace at the end of Oslo's main street Karl Johan's Gate, named after the king who built the palace. Other buildings include the baroque-style National Theatre, featuring but a Rococo style interior with a touch of Art Nouveau; the Cathedral, Our Saviour's Church, dating back to 1697 and the City Hall, where the Nobel Peace Prize is presented each year on the 10th of December.
