Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Summer or winter, rain or shine, there's always great stuff going on in New York, so when you're planning a trip, there's no real "best" or "worst" time to go. Weather wise fall and spring are the best times in New York. From April to June and September to November, temperatures are mild and pleasant, and the light is beautiful. Summers can be hot and humid while winter snowfalls are not uncommon.

September to December is conference season in New York, and we would advise booking early for travel during this period.

Insider's View

The Quin run an Artist in Residence program which features local gifted artists and musicians who showcase their work in the Quin's lobby.

Ask one of us to check out what big games are on whilst you're in New York and we can book some tickets for you.

Staying at The Quin you will be so close to Central Park, I definitely recommend a picnic there - The Quin does a special picnic hamper to include caviar.

The Quin's rooms are really large which is great for families travelling, and especially for those incorporating New York into a larger trip.

The Steak & Eggs at the Wayfarer are a must-try!

Located on 57th St., The Quin is just a stone's throw from Central Park with a buzzy art-filled lobby in homage to artists like Marc Chagall and Georgia O'Keeffe who once resided here. The hip Wayfarer restaurant contrasts with soothing, modern rooms.

Located on the corner of 57th Street and 6th Avenue, the new The Quin hotel used to be the hang-out for musicians, actors and other creative types; a fresh refurbishment pays homage with a rotating gallery in the lobby, provided by a resident artist programme.

The great location of this hotel allows guests to enjoy Central park just around the corner as well as museums and art galleries and the designer shopping on 5th Avenue. The Quin has a collaboration with Bergdorf Goodman and guests have direct dial access to Personal shoppers at the quintessential New York department store.

The hotel is home to The Wayfarer, a hip two-storey restaurant and bar, open to locals and guests of the hotel. The Wayfarer serves seafood and creative cocktails, as well as gourmet bistro favourites and a classic New York Sunday brunch.

There are 208 guest rooms including 28 suites. There are quite a lot of different room categories as well as views either over the city, courtyard or Central Park. The ones facing inwards are quieter.

There is no kids club but The Quin is great for families.

The Wayfarer is a new 130 seat restaurant and bar next to The Quin hotel, it has a diverse selection of seafood and is a great place to have breakfast, lunch and dinner or to just grab a coffee; a real traditional American grill. There is also a 24 hour Technogym Fitness Centre.

The nearby Central Park Zoo, Wollman and Lasker ice rinks, and the North Meadow Recreation centre offering basketball courts, tennis courts, handball courts, softball and baseball will keep the energetic busy. There is, of course, a huge choice of museums, galleries, and heart-of-Manhattan shops on The Quin's doorstep too.

From walking in this hotel you have a very strong sense of place, you can tell instantly the history of the place and that the hotel used to be a haven for artists and musicians. There are many one-off pieces of art on the wall and I would definitely recommend the artists in residence exhibition.

The rooms are huge for a city hotel and even the bathrooms are a great size, which is very unusual for a New York bathroom! From the Fresh amenities in the bathroom to the 24 hour gym, they have really thought of everything at this new hotel and they could not be more accommodating to even the most demanding of people. This is definitely the place to stay if you would like to explore the shopping areas and the art history of New York.
