Sitting along 3km of untouched coastline, Helena Bay Lodge is a Luxury Lodge of New Zealand offering privacy, peace and pristine seaside views. Guests can relax at the spa, dine on gourmet cuisine and end a day's activities cosying up by the fire.

Having recently opened, Helena Bay is located in an area of unspoilt natural beauty. Catering to just ten guests, what has been designed by architect Greg Jones is a timeless classic in keeping with its location along this wild coastline.

Modern materials were used in the building of the property, but its retains a mix of Maorian and European flair. Fragments of ancient coral and sediment have been carefully sourced and captured within the stone, showcasing the amount of detail which has gone into its creation.

Along with its masterful design, the staff at Helena Bay Lodge also take care with every detail and are always on hand to look after guests. From the outdoor fire pit which is perfect for a night cap under the stars to the terrace perfect for a sunset dinner, different dining options can be arranged to suit you.

During the day enjoy the swimming pool, walks along the breathtaking rugged coastline, the state of the art gym and spa complete with a Turkish hammam and plunge pool. Marvel at the prolific wildlife which New Zealand is so famous for - whales, dolphins and numerous species of birds. This remote and wild location makes Helena Bay Lodge a slice of heaven.

Helena Bay like so many of the lodges in New Zealand was built by its owner as a magnificent holiday home. Then wanting to share it with his family and friends he has opened it to lucky people like us. Two villa suites, three Junior Suites and two suites in the main building make this a special place for a family buy out. Or a honeymoon couple wanting seclusion and peace in the Bay of Islands. The pool vibe is a cross between the South of France and St Barthes, the art collection from the commissioned Miros down is both eclectic and captivating, creating a unique property overlooking a fantastic bay. The service is incredible which is partly down to the General Manager Niall and a lot to do with their enthusiasm and dedication to please. They three star Michelin chef Don Alfonso has trained his team well - the food at both dinner and breakfast was splendiferous..... The farm tour we did in wonderful four by fours you can take yourself - very Bond again - took in magnificent views, their farm to table ingredients including a wonderful Potager and last but not least a visit to the cuddly and irresistible Alpacas. They come rushing up for a snack along with their donkeys and you just want to cuddle them they are so happy in their home. Finishing off with a wonderful picnic lunch they prepared for us on the beach you realize the options to enjoy time here are endless. There is nothing they cannot do or no fun 'toy' they do not have - even the paddle boards are prepared with a GPS system in a wet bag in case you get lost or tired. Gentle seas, more than a choice of beaches and acres of land to explore and hike make this a perfect place to end or begin your holiday in New Zealand for a few days.
