Average time to visit
Weather-wise, the best times to go are spring and autumn, when temperatures are 20°C to 25°C by day and at least 10°C by night, and November to February, with cooler nights but similar daytime temperatures and light rainfall possible. The weather in March and April features sporadic, light rainfall with some sandstorms in April, while June sees dusty siroccos (desert winds) sweep through the city. From mid-June to August temperatures rise into the 30s and occasionally 40s.

Itinerary
Think Marrakech and think of vibrant, colourful souks, the odd snake charmer and the waft of exotic smells and spices. Continue into the Atlas Mountains, passing local markets, and walking through Berber villages before finishing on the coast in Essaouira.
-
Days 1-3: Marrakech
Marrakech is awash with so much to invigorate your senses, from haggling in the souks, to the snake charmers that appear in the main square at dusk or tucking into an aromatic tagine. We will provide a guide to help you find your bearings and highlight some of the more interesting, interactive aspects to Marrakech - perhaps even to arrange a souk scavenger hunt for the teens! For the more adventurous families we can arrange hot air balloon rides, or even helicopter rides into the desert for lunch, horse-riding in the Palmeraie or camel rides.
Accommodation: Fairmont Royal Palm Marrakech (2 nights)
-
Days 3-5: Atlas Mountains
Next, you are driven into the Atlas Mountains, which from late November to March are beautifully snow-capped to make things even more spectacular. To make it all the more special for the children, we can arrange a camel or mule trek through the picturesque Berber villages of the Mountains. Spend your days walking, horse-riding or simply enjoying the panoramic views. We have included a trek through local villages, however there are a range of activities for you to choose from in the area including mountain biking and cookery classes.
Accommodation: Kasbah Bab Ourika (2 nights)
-
Days 5-8: Essaouira, Morocco
Finally, make your way to Essaouira for 3 nights on the coast – we can of course extend if you have more time. The drive from the Mountains takes around 3 hours, and if you are lucky you may even spot some tree-climbing goats along the way! In Essaouira, explore the port to watch the fishermen brining in their catch and taking straight to the market. If you are feeling adventurous, you can even select your catch, and have it cooked for you on the spot. At the nearby beach, teenagers can enjoy some of the water sports available – with its Atlantic breezes the area is extremely popular for Windsurfing, so this is a great excuse to give that a try. There are also golf courses nearby, so seasoned golfers can set out on a round or younger guests can try their hand at a lesson.
Accommodation: Sofitel Essaouira Mogador (3 nights)
