Itinerary

Nature lovers, don your cowboy hats and embrace an action-packed holiday in the Wyoming wilderness, to enjoy safari-style wildlife viewing, horse riding and white-water rafting, hiking and biking, all in the breathtaking scenery of Greater Yellowstone.

  1. Days 1-5: Jackson Hole (Summer)

Your holiday begins with four days in the cowboy town of Jackson Hole. The gateway to Grand Teton and Yellowstone, the town offers an ideal base for exploring America's best loved National Parks. By day canoe on Jenny Lake, downhill mountain bike on Teton Mountain and explore Jackson's incredible array of wildlife galleries. At night saddle up at the bar - yes, the bar stools are saddles - at Million Dollar Cowboy Bar and test your timing at the western two-step to live music. We have included tickets to Jackson Hole Rodeo, a spectacle not to be missed that takes place every Wednesday and Saturday.

One of the highlights of this itinerary is the full day safari with a private guide, you'll set off for a day of exploration that travels deep into the Grand Teton and Greater Yellowstone in search of bison, bears, wolves and wild mustang horses. In Yellowstone it’s not just the animals that put on a show, photograph the magnificent thermal, bubbling activity of Old Faithful and gorgeous multi-hued Mammoth Hot Springs and the tumbling falls of the Yellowstone River.

Sunset or sunrise is the best time of day to spot wildlife so we have also included a Sunrise or Sunset Grand Teton Wildlife Safari so you can make the most of being out in the wilderness and seeing the abundant wildlife in its natural habitat with lots of photo opportunities along the way. Due to the multi-day guiding we haven't included a rental car but if you wish to do some self-guided exploration we can easily add this for you.

    Accommodation: Hotel Jackson (4 nights)

  2. Days 5-9: Gros Ventre Valley

After your four nights in Jackson Hole you will be picked up by a driver from the Ranch. It's a beautiful two-hour long drive out to the Gros Ventre Valley to live the cowboy dream at Goosewing Ranch. The ranch is positioned amongst spectacular mountain scenery that is beckoning to be explored on horse-back. Whether you're a complete novice or experienced, the characterful wranglers will pair you with your perfect steed. Non-riders are well catered for with shooting, fishing ponds, ATV's or just take it easy by the pool. Each cabin comes with its own off-road Polaris ranger vehicle, so guests can explore in style. After a day's adventure, return to home-cooked food, cowboy sing along's and camp fires. If you're travelling with children, they'll love the sleep out option in the kids' tipis and apache-style horse-painting. This ranch is a must for a laid-back, truly western experience in some of the most scenic countryside in all of America.

From here, it's a two-hour transfer back to Jackson Hole, for your onward flight.

    Accommodation: Goosewing Ranch (4 nights)

Experiences

  • Boating and Hiking at Jenny Lake

Jenny Lake in the Grand Teton National Park is picture postcard perfect. Think clear blue waters surrounded by jagged mountains and you have it. Pack a picnic and head out to the lake for a day's hiking or kayaking.

  • Guided Kayaking in Yellowstone

Accompanied by a guide, kayak around the waters west of Yellowstone National Park and experience the incredible eco-diversity of the area. Glide along pristine lakes and rivers, at all times keeping an eye out for wandering wildlife.

  • Jackson Hole Rodeo

Rodeo has been a part of Jackson Hole’s cowboy culture since the first settlers arrived over 100 years ago. Not to be missed, the spectacle run's through the summer months on a Saturday and Wednesday evening for 8pm - we can arrange tickets in advance.

  • Sunrise or Sunset Grand Teton Wildlife Safari

We can arrange an expert naturalist guide to help you make the most of your Grand Teton Wildlife Safari. Sunrise and sunset are the best times of day to spot wildlife - from bison, elk, antelope, moose, black and grizzly bears, and even the elusive wolf.

  • Yellowstone National Park Safari - Lower Loop

At least one full day should be spent at the world's first national park. While wildlife is abundant, it's the landscapes that steal the show - crystalline lakes, thundering falls, azure springs and steaming geysers, including Old Faithful will amaze.
