Best time to Visit

Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Indonesia tends to have a fairly even climate year-round. Rather than four seasons, Indonesia has two – dry (between May to September) and wet (between October to April) – and there are no extremes of temperature between winter and summer. In most parts of Indonesia, the wet season falls between October and April and the dry season between May and September. December and January see Bali at its most humid and rain tends to come in sudden tropical downpours, but it can also rain for more prolonged periods.

You will visit one of the most important Hindu temples in Bali – Danu Temple before exploring the Monkey Forest to learn about the characteristic of Bali’s intrepid monkeys. Continue to one of the islands most stunning sites – Tanah Lot Temple. Perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the sea and very much the centre of the areas spirituality if you arrive at sunset you will have the opportunity to witness traditionally clad men and women visit to offer their gift to the temple. The rest of your time in Ubud will be at your leisure.

Today take a fast boat across the Lombok Straight to Lombok. A quieter sparser island, Lombok is known as Bali’s little sister yet offers visitors some of Indonesia’s best experiences. Home to the iconic Mount Rinjani volcano and the sun kissed Gili Islands, Lombok is an understated bliss. During your time at leisure in Lombok we have included a land cruise adventure that will see you get under the islands skin and appreciate the total contrast it provides Bali. Heading out into the lush interior of the island you will visit some of Lombok’s most important historical sites including the Sendanggile waterfall located at the base of Mount Rinjani as well as Bayan village, where the 300-year old mosque there is believed to be the oldest in Lombok. From here you will visit the forest reserve at Lemor, which offers those that venture here sensational views across the undulating hills and surrounding rice paddies.

One of seven sea temples that are said to form a “chain” around the island, Uluwatu is one of Bali’s most venerable places of worship. Perched 70m above sea level on the edge of a steep cliff, the views over the Indian Ocean are mind-blowing.

During your visit at sunset you will also have the opportunity to witness a tradition Kecak dance - a ritualistic dance sometimes involving up to one hundred male participants.
