Good time to visit

Average time to visit

Indonesia tends to have a fairly even climate year-round. Rather than four seasons, Indonesia has two – wet and dry – and there are no extremes of temperature between winter and summer. In most parts of Indonesia, the wet season falls between October and April and the dry season between May and September. December and January see Bali at its most humid, with relative humidity averaging 85% and rain tends to come in sudden tropical downpours, but it can also rain for more prolonged periods.

Itinerary

Bali truly is an ultimate honeymoon destination, boasting beautiful diverse landscapes, delicious food and the most amazing array of romantic and effortlessly luxurious accommodation. This itinerary is perfect for those looking for an utterly luxurious, Balinese honeymoon, taking time to explore the rich and vibrant culture whilst relaxing in the most stunning surroundings.

  1. Days 1-5: Bali

Begin your honeymoon on the cliff top setting of Uluwatu, on the southern peninsula of the island of Bali. Famed as a surf mecca, it is close to some of the island’s best beaches and the spectacular Uluwatu Temple, perched on a cliff. Included as part of your itinerary is a tour of Uluwatu Temple at sunset. Regarded as one of the islands most prominent places of worship, visiting Uluwatu Temple at sunset is truly mesmerising. During the tour you will be privileged to witness a traditional Kecak dance that can involve up to one hundred dancers before enjoying a seafood feast at one of the areas renowned restaurants.

Accommodation: Alila Villas Uluwatu (4 nights)

  2. Days 5-9: Bali

After relaxing and enjoying the many high-end restaurants and boutique shops of Bali’s south coast travel to the cultural heart of Bali, Ubud. Spend your days exploring the bustling streets of Ubud, where artisan shops and galleries rub shoulders with colorful markets and ornate temples or choose to relax in the comfort of your luxurious accommodation.

Included during your time in Ubud is a tour of Bali’s central highlands, a region renowned for its stunning beauty and three caldera lakes. Visit one of the regions varied markets and marvel at the huge variety of fruits and exotic spices before continuing to the iconic Ulun Danu Temple, a water temple perched atop Lake Beratan and respected throughout Bali for its healing properties. You will get the opportunity to experience the healing waters for yourself before continuing to the coastal town of Lobina, a bustling harbor town where you will enjoy a gourmet seafood lunch.

Accommodation: Chedi Club At Tanah Gajah (4 nights)

  3. Days 9-13: Bali

From the lush and verdant heart of the island, travel to the remote and unspoiled east coast for a stay at the lesser-visited area of Manggis. Nestled in the shadow of Mount Agung and overlooking the bustling Lombok Strait, Manggis offers those that visit a glimpse of traditional life where local Balinese can be seen working the rice paddies and fishing off the coastal waters.

During your time in Manggis we have included an off-road tour in a classic VW 181 convertible, an unconventional yet alternative way to explore the region. Visit Pura Kehan, an 11th century temple considered by many to be Bali’s most beautiful temple before proceeding to the village of Penglipuran surrounded by plantations and bamboo forests. Here, witness time-honoured traditions, very much a part of everyday life before continuing  on to Kintamani for spectacular views of Mount Batur, an active volcano that sits beside Lake Batur. Before returning to Manggis you will have the opportunity to visit some local markets famous for the crafts of batik and wood carving.

    Accommodation: Amankila (4 nights)
