After arriving into Jomo Kenyatta Airport in Nairobi you will be met and transferred to Nairobi Wilson to catch a charter flight to Nanyuki and this is where your adventure begins. Soar over the rift valley and plains of Kenya and on touch down at Nanyuki you will meet your driver who will take you on the drive to Elsa's Kopje.
This unique lodge is located close to the original camp were George and Joy Adamson released Elsa the lioness into the Meru National Park. The accommodation is made up of nine stone fronted cottages with phenomenal views over the reserve. This is the perfect place to begin your safari adventure and will provide you with the perfect combination of time to relax by the infinity pool, indulge in a massage on your private deck and take in the spectacular wildlife on daily game drives.
After four nights here you would then be driven to Lewa which is approximately a three hour drive through some beautiful areas of Kenya. By driving this trip instead of hopping between each camp by plane, it gives you the chance to see so much more of this incredible country, its stunning scenery and its diverse cultures.
Lewa House is situated with the 45,000 acre Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in the Laikipia area of Kenya. After your daily game drives at Elsa's, Lewa will give you the chance to experience the spectacular game viewing in a variety of different ways. Head out on a ride one afternoon or experience the thrill of a walking safari where you can gain a whole new understanding of the bush and the way that every animal and plant has adapted itself to the environment. One of the most unique activities on offer here is the yellow bi-plane and if pilot Will Craig is on the property, make sure you take a flight around the conservancy!
After an incredible four nights at Lewa your driver will take you on a spectacular drive to Laikipia to finish off this amazing trip with four nights at Kicheche Laikipia. Positioned in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Kicheche Laikipia is a tented camp with phenomenal game viewing. By this point on the trip you will have hopefully ticked a lot the wildlife off your list and with four nights here you can keep an eye out for the rarer species such as the Grevy's Zebra and the Beisa Oryx. The guiding here is second to none and this will be the perfect place to end this incredible safari. Picture game drives in the day followed by evenings around the camp fire, under a canopy of stars, gin and tonic in hand while you reminisce on your adventure.
The next day, you will be driven back to Nanyuki in time for your flight to Nairobi. If you have a late flight back to the UK we can arrange for you to be taken via one of the hotels in Nairobi so you can have a shower and enjoy a hearty meal before your flight.

When to go
The main season is in January and February, when the weather is hottest and driest. At this time, the animals in the wildlife parks tend to congregate more around the watercourses, making them easier to spot.
Northern and eastern Kenya temperatures vary from highs of up to 40°C during the day to less than 20°C at night. Rainfall in this area is sparse and, when it does occur, is often in the form of violent storms. July is usually the driest month, and November the wettest.
