Garden Route enjoys a moderate climate all year round. In peak summer season, from December to February, temperatures can climb as high as 34ºC, although winter temperatures can drop to as low as 4ºC. Generally, this season has many sunny days with high wind at times. During the winter months of June, July, and August, expect frequent rains and a couple of chilly evenings. From June to December, the Southern Right Whale (Eubalaena australis) graces Walker Bay with its massive presence.

Arrive Port Elizabeth by airplane, you will be met and driven about to Kwandwe - one of South Africa's most beautiful, malarial-free private game reserves.
Kwandwe Ecca Lodge is ultra-modern and contemporary in design and is fantastic for children of all ages. The large suites each have their own private deck and plunge pool (which can be fenced for smaller children) overlooking the Great Fish River. With only six suites the feel is intimate and friendly, and the guides are excellent. Activities include game drives, bush walks and fishing.
The beautiful reserve, with its rolling, green hills, has a large amount of game present including lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino among many others.
Transfer to Port Elizabeth airport and fly to Cape Town.
You will be met at the airport and driven to your hotel, where your hire car will be delivered later that day. This is a fantastic and exciting city for families; there is so much to do in the area from taking a trip up Table Mountain, heading right down to Cape Point to the (almost) most southern tip of the continent or seeing the penguins at Boulders Beach, it's hard to spend too much time in Cape Town.
