This ski and city twin combines two iconic destinations, take in a show or try your luck at the gaming tables of Las Vegas before skiing deep powder in the legendary Jackson Hole, known for its historic cowboy town and off piste terrain.

  1. Fly to Las Vegas

  2. Days 1-4: Las Vegas

Begin your journey as soon as you touch down in the Nevada’s capital, the magnificent Las Vegas, the true city that never sleeps. Las Vegas may be famous for its gaming but even if you are no gambler, a couple of nights in the entertainment capital of the world is a breathless whirlwind of experiences. Take your pick from shows, concerts and sports events, not to mention visiting the Grand Canyon and surrounding desert by helicopter.

Accommodation: Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas (3 nights)

  3. Flight from Las Vegas to Salt Lake City

  4. Flight from Salt Lake City to Jackson Hole

  5. Days 4-11: Jackson Hole Ski

You will continue on from Las Vegas to Jackson Hole by connecting through Salt Lake City. The flight to Jackson Hole is a spectacular journey, approaching through the Grand Tetons. Make sure you sit on the right hand side of the plane to admire the best views.

Jackson Hole is North America’s top resort for advanced skiers for good reason and the drop into infamous Corbet's Couloir is just one challenge offered by the USA’s answer to Verbier and Val d’Isère. Its not all steep and deep though, the recent development of the mountain and addition of two high speed gondolas means the intermediate mid mountain is perfect for beginners and intermediates. The ski area is well known for being quieter than many North American ski resorts as it doesn’t get the local weekend visitors due to its remote location in Wyoming’s Wild West. The venue for many films, Jackson Hole is probably the only mountain in the US to offer both the legendary terrain and character and après-ski to boot. Even better, Jackson and neighbouring Grand Targhee have a snow record to put Europe to shame. Staying in Teton Village offers ski in/out convenience but be sure to visit the cowboy town of Jackson itself. You can even consider splitting your stay between accommodation in Teton Village and the town of Jackson. They are connected by a regular bus service which takes approximately 20 minutes. While it would be tempting to do endless laps of the Tram on the Rendez-vous mountain, do not miss the opportunity to tour the fabulous Yellowstone National Park on a snowmobile or heated snowcat.

Accommodation: Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole (7 nights)

  6. Fly home from Jackson Hole

Oliver Evans (Staff)

Vegas is a place that everyone should have on their "bucket list". I am hopelessly bad gambler and went with trepidation but had the most incredible stay and barely went near a card table or a roulette wheel. Magic shows, a walk down the strip to enjoy the fountains outside the Bellagio and the sheer atmosphere of the place - I could not have been proved more wrong.

  • Dog sledding

Head out with a team of huskies and shoosh along forest trails in the shadow of the Tetons. Learn dog handling skills and feel the excitement of running your own dog team and sled - a truly uplifting experience.

  • White water rafting

There are plenty of places in the USA to run white water, but one of the best is the upper Colorado River where you can run standing waves and whoop and holler in delight as you and your team shoot the rapids.

  • Winter Wildlfe Safari

Explore the National Elk Refuge and Grand Teton National Park in search of the area’s abundant wildlife. This gathering of wintering animals makes winter one of the best times to view wildlife in the Grand Tetons and take a winter sleigh ride.
