Summer is high season here, with August bringing the hottest weather and the biggest crowds. Itinerary

Explore the Mediterranean coast of France and Italy, traveling from the beautiful countryside of Provence and the Cote d'Azur to the Italian Riviera and the breathtaking Amalfi Coast. Spend your summer in style as you journey along this iconic coastline.

  1. Fly to Marseille

  2. Days 1-4: Provence

Start your Mediterranean journey in the heart of Provence, where you can enjoy a few days in the countryside, taking delight in the region's beautiful scenery, fine wines, and delicious cuisine. Spend two nights at Hotel Crillon Le Brave, a charming hotel perched on top of a small hill village encompassed by stretching vineyards and olive groves. As the hotel is surrounded by countryside and can easily be explored by bike we have included a cycling tour for you, so you can explore the routes around the famous Mount Ventoux, the imposing climb from the Tour de France.

Provence also has a range of historic cities such as Avignon and Orange to explore and quintessentially French market towns. We've included a guided visit to some of these markets so you can sample some fresh produce and see the beautiful local artwork.

Accommodation: Hotel Crillon le Brave (3 nights)

  3. Days 4-8: Côte dAzur

A leisurely half-day drive will take you to the Côte d’Azur, where you can experience the glitz and glamour of Nice, Cannes and Monaco. Spend four nights inland from the hustle and bustle of these towns, in the hills close to the charming town of St Paul de Vence. Château Saint-Martin and Spa is a luxury hotel boasting a romantic, secluded position and views of the Mediterranean Sea. It is the perfect retreat for relaxing or exploring the nearby towns and beautiful beaches.

Once a 12th century Templar Knight Commandery, today Chateau Saint-Martin and Spa is a byword for style, sophistication and total luxury. Having been built around the ruins of the Knight Templar castle and surrounded by endless acres of natural beauty, Château Saint-Martin really is a unique place to stay. The combination of the sea and mountains provides fabulous and varied views from all angles, the immaculately maintained gardens provide a sense of tranquility and the attentive service makes each guest feel special during their stay at this hotel. The resort exudes a peaceful serenity with an understated elegance.

Accommodation: Chateau Saint-Martin and Spa (4 nights)

  4. Days 8-11: Portofino and Cinque Terre

Continuing eastwards from the Côte d’Azur you will cross from the French to the Italian Riviera, with the mountains of the Prealps on one side and the glittering sea on the other. Arrive in Portofino, one of the most stylish towns on the Riviera, and spend three nights at Belmond Hotel Splendido. This luxurious and relaxing retreat evokes a sense of old world glamour and is the perfect base from which to explore this stunning stretch of coast. Spend your days making full use of the hotel's facilities, or discover the beauty of the Italian Riviera, heading south to the famous Cinque Terre. Admire the vibrant, colorful streets of these five fishing villages as you soak up the incredible atmosphere and dramatic scenery.

Accommodation: Belmond Hotel Splendido (3 nights)

  5. Days 11-14: Capri

Finally, fly south to Naples and on to the legendary Capri, an island renowned for its designer boutiques and stylish streets. Behind the glitz and the glamour, however, lies a history dating back to the Roman Empire, which can easily be explored with a private guide at your side. Visit the towns of Capri and Anacapri from your base at JK Place or venture out by boat to the stunning Grotta Azzurra or the nearby Amalfi Coast.

Accommodation: JK Place Capri (3 nights)

  6. Fly home from Naples
