Description

We think that this itinerary really does deliver the very best that Tanzania has to offer and is the ultimate wildlife experience. We have based your stay with an overnight spot at Arusha Coffee Lodge before a transfer to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater where we think Gibbs Farm is one of the best spots to stay. It is ideally situated between Lake Manyara and the Crater meaning you will have the chance to see both areas.

We think that a couple of nights here is perfect, but at Scott Dunn we will tailor-make the itinerary to suit you as it is completely flexible. From Ngorongoro hop on a plane into the heart of the Serengeti and stay at one of the mobile camps which follow the Great Migration and hence are always perfectly situated for the best game viewing experience.

After your exhilarating Serengeti Adventure we think it's always great to have some time to relax before the end of your vacation. Rubondo Island Lodge is a luxury lodge hidden away from the world on Rubondo Island just off the shores of Lake Victoria. Rubondo has to be one of the most unique lodges in Tanzania and here you are free to explore the island to your heart's content or simply sit back with a book and soak up your surroundings. The island is home to wild chimpanzees and a day spent chimpanzee trekking is definitely recommended and a completely unique experience!

When to go

Tanzania is a large country, with a varied climate. Generally, the long rains run from March to May - the temperature is warm and the humidity is high. June to October is the long dry season, and the short rains are in November and December, much lighter than the long rains. January and February are again dry (the short dry season) so this is another good time to visit.
