We design each itinerary around you, so this suggested itinerary is a starting point that we can tweak or transform into something completely bespoke to you. Call us on 858 345 1763 to start planning your vacation.
Begin by flying to Mexico City, where we have suggested spending three nights at the family-friendly Four Seasons, a luxury hotel situated opposite Chapultepec Park and within easy reach of many fabulous restaurants, boutiques and museums.
While here, there are plenty of fun things to do from exploring the awe-inspiring Aztec pyramids of Teotihuacan, taking a boat trip through the floating market at Xochimilco, and even going to a Mexican masked wrestling match, which is great fun and your children will be able to buy a mask! Adding an extra day here would allow you perhaps to make a trip out to Cuernavaca or Puebla, both colonial cities with abundant cultural riches and superb food.
Fly down to Merida to spend three nights at the memorable Hacienda Temozon, a grand and beautifully restored hacienda surrounded by lush tropical jungle near the magnificent Mayan ruins of Uxmal and Kabah. This former nobleman’s estate has been restored in a colonial style that evokes the splendour of past eras, and there is a magnificent swimming pool surrounded by groves of fruit trees. Your children will love imagining themselves as Indiana Jones as they explore the incredible temple cities, or hike through the jungle to a secluded cenote for a private bathe.
Finally, we'd suggest heading to Mexico’s glorious Caribbean Coast for five nights of fun and indulgence at the slick Banyan Tree Mayakoba, staying in one of their fabulous three bedroom town houses with its very own private roof top pool.
When you’re not in the spa, in your villa’s private pool or hitting the beach, there’s plenty to see and do for all the family. Mayakoba has a Greg Norman-designed golf course and there are non-d water sports available down on the beach. Nearby snorkeling and diving is excellent and of course Mayan history and culture with the impressive Mayan archaeological sites of Chichen Itza, Tulum and Coba within driving distance. It's also fantastic fun to take a kayak out into the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve and look for manatees.
