The journey begins in the wonderful city of Buenos Aires, where you will begin your vacation in style, staying three nights at the luxurious Palacio Duhau in historic Recoleta. Learn to tango, dine in style, shop till you drop, venture out into the Pampas for a day at an estancia, watch a polo match in Palermo, marvel at South American modern masters, pay homage to Evita, go wine tasting....Buenos Aires really has so much to offer!

From Buenos Aires, fly down to El Calafate next to stay at Eolo, a wonderful Relais & Chateaux lodge in the heart of untamed wilderness, where you are sure to see condors wheeling above. It is also close to the magnificent Perito Moreno glacier. Hear the deafening roar as large chunks of ice spectacularly break off before floating away as vivid blue icebergs in the lake below - a sight not to be missed. For those keen on trekking or horse riding, we can arrange an epic day at Estancia Cristina nearby.

Continue to Torres del Paine, a national park of unparalleled natural beauty, with dramatic glaciers, emerald green lakes and spectacular granite peaks. The park is home to an abundance of wildlife including guanacos, silver foxes, flamingos and condors. Stay at the exclusive Explora Salto Chico, the most exclusive hotel right slap bang in the National Park with simply stunning views. There are fantastic adventure opportunities for all abilities including sailing, hiking, horse riding and kayaking.

Finish with a couple of nights in Chile's famed vineyards, at the spectacular design hotel Vina Vik. Expect world-class wine and personalized hospitality and service, along with plenty of outdoor excursions such as horseriding and trekking amongst the vineyards. This is the perfect place to unwind at the end of your trip, with countless opportunities to relax around the beautiful pool or making use of the wine spa, topped off by delicious food and wine.

Explora Patagonia Hotel Salto Chico is located right at the heart of the extraordinary Torres del Paine National Park in central Patagonia. The varied and untouched landscapes of this area led UNESCO to declare it a biosphere reserve. Located 113 kilometers to the north of Puerto Natales, between the Andes and the plateau. Your final stay is at Vina Vik, an exclusive retreat set amongst the vineyards of Chile's Central Valley, a 3-hour drive from Santiago airport.

When to go

Summer in Argentina is from December to March and winter is from June until September. Buenos Aires is a year round destination although October through to April is considered the best time to visit as temperatures are warmer. January is the hottest month with an average temperature of 25°C (76°F) and the coldest is July at 12°C (53°F).

Southern Patagonia is best visited from November to March when temperatures are milder but visitors should be prepared for strong winds and changeable weather at any time. It is worth considering traveling outside this time, especially rewarding in April (for autumn colors) or October (for spring flowers) because winds can drop significantly and there are fewer visitors in the National Parks.

The Central Valley is a year-round destination but the most pleasant months to visit are October to April. Summer (November to April) is hot, and there is lots of sunshine. Over winter (June to September) you’ll see the Andes wreathed in snow but the weather is chilly and rain can be an issue. Spring-like September is Chile's national independence month, and is full of activity.
