Itinerary

Where the lakes meet the mountains, northern Italy offers some of the country's most magnificent scenery and is the ideal playground for families. Explore beautiful Lake Garda before escaping to the fresh mountain air of the Dolomites, where outdoor adventures await.

  1. Fly to Verona

  2. Days 1-4: Italian Lakes

Start your Italian escape at the largest of the country's lakes, Garda. Here, the glassy water laps at the shoreline, where charming villages are nestled on each side of the lake. Spend your days exploring picturesque towns such as Sirmione in the south or Malcesine in the east, taking in beautiful scenery and quaint, colourful streets.

Stay for three nights at Du Lac et Du Parc Grand Resort, located just moments from the town of Riva del Garda and surrounded by spectacular mountains. This family-friendly resort boasts extensive grounds, offering a wealth of activities such as sailing and windsurfing on the clear waters of the lake, or cycling through the parkland gardens. Before leaving the shores of the stunning Lake Garda, be sure to visit the charming village of Malcesine. From here take the cable car into the mountains to Monte Baldo and admire the simply breathtaking views across the lake.

Accommodation: Du Lac et Du Parc Grand Resort (3 nights)

  3. Days 4-8: Summer in the Dolomites

Continue your journey north to the Dolomites, a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site home to dramatic peaks, alpine meadows and lush forests. This enchanting landscape is perfect for those looking for adventure, and there are many hiking and biking trails suitable for all levels of expertise.

Spend four nights at Rosa Alpina, an authentic yet luxurious mountain cabin nestled in the heart of San Cassiano in Alta Badia. From here, head out on hikes through the alpine scenery with a private guide leading the way or take out one of the hotel's mountain bikes to explore the local area.

After busy days exploring the mountains, return to Rosa Alpina to unwind and soothe tired muscles in the spa, where an adults-only wing offers complete peace and tranquillity. In the evenings, recharge with cheese fondue or a gourmet meal at Rosa Alpina's three Michelin-starred restaurant, refreshed and ready for the next day's adventure.

Accommodation: Rosa Alpina - Summer (4 nights)

  4. Fly home from Venice
