Your first stop is at Grumeti Tented Camp, set on the banks of the Grumeti River in the western Serengeti. The camp itself is beautifully designed with fresh and light interiors. The game viewing here is superb at any time of year and during your stay you'll be expertly guided on morning and afternoon game drives.

You then take a light aircraft flight to Lake Manyara where you will spend two relaxing nights at Lake Manyara Tree Lodge. This stunning lodge is the at the very heart of the national park where it is quite and tranquil. WIth only ten tree houses, the camp is intimate and tastefully designed in keeping with its environment. Lake Manyara is a small national park but with lots to offer in terms of wildlife, birders will be very impressed with the abundance of bird species including great big flocks of pelicans and flamingos.

After your time in Lake Manyara you will be driven to the iconic Ngorongoro crater where you will stay in Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. This lodge is famous for its incredible views from its base on the rim, as well as its luxurious furnishings. Here you will have fantastic access to the crater base where you will find a plethora of animals.

Surrounding the island is the fabulous Mnemba reef which offers world class diving and fantastic snorkeling, with two dives a day included in your stay you really can explore this glorious under water world. Serengeti & Zanzibar

Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp is set in the western corridor of Tanzania’s magnificent Serengeti National Park on the banks of an oxbow which is formed by an overflow of the Grumeti River. Then to the Serengeti, to the private Klein's Camp concession, located just outside the park proper. Then head to Fundu Lagoon in the Zanzibar Archipelago for some Indian Ocean indulgence.

When to go

Tanzania is a large country, with a varied climate. Generally, the long rains run from March to May - the temperature is warm and the humidity is high. June to October is the long dry season, and the short rains are in November and December, much lighter than the long rains. January and February are again dry (the short dry season) so this is another good time to visit. The wildebeest migration happens most of year in Tanzania's Serengeti, and is linked to the rainfall.
