Description
Begin in Lima, with its fascinating colonial history, staying a night at the Belmond Miraflores Park and dining on world-class cuisine, before flying up to Cuzco and heading into the beautiful Sacred Valley with its fascinating Inca heritage, sublime mountain landscapes and tranquil atmosphere. Stay for two nights at the lovely Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado which has a picturesque location overlooking the Urubamba River. Enjoy adventures in the Valley from horseriding to rafting and visit colorful and traditional markets.
From here, travel by rail through the Urubamba Valley to Machu Picchu, the breathtaking ruined citadel of the Incas set amongst spectacular forested peaks. Enjoy a private guided tour of the ruins and stay at the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge which is the only hotel located right outside the gates to the ancient site.
Return by train to Cuzco, one of the most charming towns in the Americas. Cuzco is rich in Indian culture with beautiful colonial architecture, cobbled streets and nearby ancient Inca ruins and the buzzing atmosphere makes it easy to while away a few days here. Stay at the beautiful Belmond Palacio Nazarenas, a former palace and convent which is now one of the city's finest hotels.
Next fly to the mighty Iguassu Falls which borders Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay and when the water is high, omits a mighty roar making for a truly impressive experience. Stay at the lovely Belmond Hotel Das Cataratas within sight and sound of the falls themselves and explore the rainforest walkways, take an exhilarating jetboat ride to the base of the falls, or simply relax while toucans and parrots fly overhead.
The grand finale is Rio de Janeiro, renowned for its spectacular bay, miles of golden sands and vibrant atmosphere. The Belmond Copacabana Palace is a luxuriously grand hotel overlooking the most famous of Brazil’s beaches and within easy reach of the city's key attractions.

When to go
April to November is the ideal time to travel, as the rainy season in Peru runs from December to March. If traveling in June, then the midwinter solstice festival celebrated in Cuzco towards the end of the month is a spectacularly colorful occasion and well worth considering, but book well in advance to secure availability.
