Start the journey in historic Beijing in the perfect setting of Aman at Summer Palace. The property is made up of a series of pavilions, some of which date back over a century and were originally used by guests of the Palace awaiting an audience with the Empress Dowager Cixi. During your time in Beijing we have included a private guide to take you out to the Great Wall of China, spanning over 6,000 kilometres and of course to the labyrinth that makes up the Forbidden City sitting alongside the monumental Tiananmen Square. As the Aman is located directly adjacent to the Summer Palace, as a guest here you are afforded views of this beautiful site and after the gates have closed to regular guests, you'll be able to exclusively experience the Palace, a truly special experience.
From Beijing you will take an early morning flight to Lijiang, located on the Tibetan Plateau in the stunning Yunnan province. Surrounded by the dramatic Jade Dragon Snow Mountains and with a wonderfully old world China feel, Lijiang takes you back to a time gone by. Again, with your private guide, over your two full days here you’ll enjoy exploring rarely visited villages and getting a taste of traditional Naxi way of life. In Lijiang you’ll stay at Amandayan, perched above the old town of Lijiang and designed in the traditional style of the city.
Next you will travel to your last Aman in China, Amanfayun hidden in a picturesque valley on the outskirts of Hangzhou, which you will reach by a flight from Lijiang. Once described by Marco Polo as “The City of Heaven”, Hangzhou is still today regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in China due to its tranquil West Lake, countless pagodas, historic temples, botanical gardens and vast wetland areas. Here you’ll be able to visit the beautiful Lingyin Temple, one of the best known Buddhist temples in China. Amanfayun itself is built as a small village and you often see monks walking through the grounds as they make their way to the surrounding temples.
Leaving China you will take a car transfer of just over two hours to Shanghai where you will connect to your international flight to Manila and onward charter flight to Amanpulo in the Philippines. Located on the private island of Pamalican, is surrounded by white sand beaches, turquoise waters and a coral reef three hundred meters from the shore.
