Start your adventure amongst the rice terraces and jungles of Ubud, a quaint and quirky town close to the Ayung River, with a backdrop of central Bali's volcanoes. There is so much to discover here, from visits to local medicine men and the colorful markets, to white water rafting, cycling through the paddy fields and learning how to cook authentic Indonesian cuisine with a cooking class.
The Four Seasons Sayan sits on the banks of the Ayung River, with its entrance perched high above the canopy looking out across the valley. Descend into the heart of the resort, where you'll find a selection of fantastic restaurants, a spa, swimming pool and the "Pici Pici" kids club for children aged 5 - 12. Whilst the little ones are taken care of building kites or learning Balinese dancing, why not enjoy a signature treatment at the spa or head out to enjoy the sights and sounds of Ubud. Your Two Bedroom Villa offers plenty of space for all the family, including a great plunge pool for cooling off in the heat of the day.
Following 5 nights up in the center of the island, you'll make your way down to the south coast for a stay at the Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay. With a safe, golden beach and fantastic facilities, it is the perfect family beach destination. Once again, your little ones can be taken care of at the kids club, where games and activities will immerse them in Balinese culture, whilst you enjoy a game of tennis, or simply relax by your private pool.
With plenty of great restaurants to choose from (with lots of choice for the children too), you are spoiled for choice here at the Four Seasons. However, if you fancy exploring your surroundings, you can easily stroll down the sands of Jimbaran Bay to try one of the delicious local seafood restaurants that line the shore.
Location & Directions
Your first five nights are spent at Four Seasons Sayan, located in Ubud, a quaint and quirky town at the heart of Bali, with markets, temples and monkey forest to explore. Ubud is located around 90 minutes by road from Bali's international airport at Denpasar. From there you will drive down to the south coast to stay at the Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay for a further 5 nights. This beach resort is only 30 minutes drive from the airport.
When to go
Straddling the equator, Indonesia tends to have a fairly even climate year-round. Rather than four seasons, Indonesia has two – dry (between May to September) and wet (between October to April) – and there are no extremes of temperature between winter and summer. In most parts of Indonesia, the wet season falls between October and April and the dry season between May and September. December and January see Bali at its most humid and rain tends to come in sudden tropical downpours, but it can also rain for more prolonged periods.
