In May, the islands come to life and weather usually settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings, especially in July and August when it can be very hot. Rain is unlikely but it can happen from time to time. May, June and September are particularly pleasurable months with July and August being especially popular on the islands.
Greece is renowned for its spectacular islands, beautiful landscapes and delicious cuisine; however, many visitors just scratch the surface of what this captivating country has to offer. This unique itinerary will allow you to get off-the-beaten-track and discover a more authentic side to Greece, getting under the skin of local traditions, visiting secluded islands and exploring traditional villages.

Here you’ll find ancient monuments dispersed among contemporary architecture and, with your private guide, you’ll discover the distinct neighbourhoods of the city, each with its own unique character. Get lost in the winding streets of Plaka, thought to be Athens’s oldest district, and admire the whitewashed buildings of picturesque Anafiotika, inspired by the traditional architecture of the Cyclades. During your free time, visit the Acropolis and learn about the legends of Greek mythology that are centred around this iconic monument.
Next, you’ll escape the crowds of Athens and head to the Cycladic islands, where you’ll have the chance to discover the authentic Greece. Your first stop is Milos, known for its simply breath-taking landscapes surrounded by the clearest blue waters. Join your private guide for a tour of the island’s key sights and learn about the fascinating history of the island, from Neolithic settlements to the discovery of the famed Venus de Milo statue. You’ll visit the jaw-dropping white stone bay of Sarakiniko, the colourful fishing village of Klima and swim in the waters off one of Milos’s beautiful sandy beaches. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore the untouched western side of the island, which is only accessible by 4x4. Your next stop will be the charming island of Sifnos, which can only be reached by ferry.
