Boat charter with Tudor Dawn, Port de Pollença

Hiring a boat is a great way to explore some of Mallorca’s beautiful coves whilst enjoying either a sedate sail or a high speed day out. There are numerous companies offering boat hire, with or without a skipper, so you’re bound to find something suitable. However, particularly in peak season, it is best to book as far in advance as possible in order to avoid disappointment.

For a sedate way to explore the seas surrounding Mallorca, the Tudor Dawn is a 50 foot Brigantine Schooner, square rigged with square sails and topsails that is available for hire. The schooner is based in Port de Pollença, where the cruises start.

There are a number of sailing options, including private charters for up to 12 passengers for a full day (includes a picnic and cold drinks) or a half day (includes cold drinks). There are also “fun day” options which include jet ski, banana rides, waterskiing, a wakeboard and the “flying mattress” which can be used throughout the day.

One of the best ways to experience Mallorca’s beauty is by bike. Mallorca offers something for every type of cyclist from causal riders to intermediate and advanced cyclists desiring steep climbs and rocky terrain. Throughout the winter months, many of the European professional teams spend time in Mallorca training in the ideal conditions.

For those of you that are casual or beginner cyclists you can simply hire a bike to ride along the charming country roads discovering small villages and exploring Mallorcan culture, typical Mallorcan cuisine and the peaceful way of life of the locals. Mallorca is covered in cycle routes and quiet rural lanes for you to explore.

Mallorca also offers some of the most impressive and demanding cycle routes for intermediate and advanced cyclists. The rises and falls of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range that stretches the whole island make the perfect cycle playground for those wanting to test their strength.

The local bike shops cater for both casual and more advanced cyclists. Bikes can be hired for half days or longer periods. Some outfits will deliver your hire bike to the villa and pick it up again at the end of your stay. Bear in mind that the more technical the bike that you want, the more likely you will need to go in to the store or select all the elements online so that the bike can be correctly set up for you.
