Casa La Siesta is a beautifully restored country retreat, set in pleasant and fragrant gardens, with its 9 rooms set around a charming central patio. This traditional 'cortijo' (or Spanish country house), offers laid back, friendly yet attentive service.
Casa La Siesta can be booked out for exclusive use or room by room as a rustic boutique hotel. Guest spend their days relaxing in the gardens, swimming in the large pool, or whiling the hours away reading in secluded corners.
Casa La Siesta has eight rooms, many of which have their own balcony or terrace. The rooms are tastefully kitted out in a rustic style, with wooden beams and antique fittings. The bathrooms feature oversized showers and freestanding bathtubs. The 'Casita' is a separate part of the property ideal for a small group or a family: it can be booked as a two bedroom or a three bedroom option as it has its own private garden and swimming pool.
Casa La Siesta is an adult only property, however families are welcome during certain weeks throughout the year.
Breakfast is served on the sunny patio of Casa La Siesta and features fresh eggs from the neighbor's chickens! Dinner is served outdoors or indoors, and is a set menu - as the property is so small the staff will let you know what the chef is planning that evening and in the unlikely event that it doesn't appeal an alternative can, of course, be proposed. On the chef's night off a delicious cold platter can be served or you may wish to try one of the excellent restaurants in the vicinity. Water, soft drinks and beers are complimentary, and there's an honesty bar too. Casa La Siesta has a good selection of wines and (of course) sherries in its cellar.
There is a lot to see and do in this part of Spain if you can drag yourself away from the garden and pool! There are some lovely beaches nearby - El Palmar beach is the closest beach and only 10-minutes’ drive away. There's good surf there and lessons and equipment hire can be arranged. Other popular sporting activities include whale watching, bird watching, golf (there are some lovely courses nearby).
Location & Directions
Casa La Siesta is located only 10 kilometers from the beautifully unspoiled Costa de la Luz, 5-minutes from the 'White Village' of Vejer de la Frontera and 20-minutes from Cadiz.
When to go
Andalucia has a Mediterranean climate, making it a year round destination. In general you can usually rely on pleasant or hot temperatures from April to early November. In Andalucia there are plenty of warm, sunny days right through winter.
The best time to visit is in the Spring and Fall when the temperature is just perfect with warm sunny days. During July and August it can be very hot and some days the temperature reaches 40°C, Andalucia is extremely crowded during these months.
