Set in the South Tyrol, amidst the Sassolungo, Puez and the Sella Massif mountains, Pine Lodge Dolomites is the first full-service luxury chalet of its kind in Selva Gardena. It enjoys a prime south facing position, with views over the village and the towering peaks beyond. The vision of British interior designer Susanna Scott and her Italian husband, Georg Planker, a successful hotelier, they have combined their experience and skills into creating a truly stunning chalet with exceptional service. Custom built, Pine Lodge mixes contemporary design with traditional wood carving and carpentry, typical of Val Gardena.
Met by Susanna, guests are greeted by Italian champagne and canapés on arrival and are looked after seamlessly by her professional, attentive and discrete team. Together with the butler, she'll show you around the chalet and before dinner introduce you to the chalet services and the area. She is often also on hand to organize activities and excursions and ensure everyone has everything they need. Guests can choose to stay on either a B&B basis and have occasional evening meals at the chalet or enjoy the luxury of breakfast each day, together with four course dinners on six evenings.
The living area of Pine Lodge is on the first floor, making the most of the fabulous views. The chalet sleeps up to eight guests in four beautifully furnished ensuite bedrooms which all have access to the garden and terrace. The open plan living and dining area has a central log fire and floor to ceiling windows, opening up onto the terrace, providing unobstructed views of the breathtaking scenery. Pine Lodge is equipped with a professional kitchen, bar, in-home cinema with PlayStation 4 and kids games, small gym, a garage for up to three cars along with three outdoor parking spaces. There is free WiFi throughout. Guests looking to unwind after a long day hiking can choose between a Finnish, Bio Sauna, or Infrared, or relax in the outdoor hot tub or endless pool, whilst in-room massages and a selection of treatments are on offer from the Lodge's own therapists. Pine Lodge Dolomites can be booked on a bed and breakfast or fully catered basis.
Selva Gardena is at the head of the Val Gardena, in the heart of the Dolomites, an area designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Dolomites offers dramatic landscapes with lots of sunshine and mild temperatures, perfect for outdoor pursuits. The Dolomites offers an array of activities from mountain biking to horse riding to rock climbing. The village of Selva Gardena (altitude 1563m) is legendary for its great hospitality and its exceptional location. And like everywhere in Italy, children are especially welcomed.
There are four comfortable suites on the ground floor all with en-suite bathrooms (two with bath and shower and two with just a shower), with the Master Bedroom being considerably larger than the three others. Each room has access to the garden and terrace and have been furnished with a totally different style and color scheme. They are all equipped with Satellite flatscreen TV with internet radio, WiFi internet, plus hairdryer and safe.

The spacious Master Suite “Sella Ronda” is 40 m² - with a double bed that can become twins. The en-suite bathroom features a free standing bath tub and an effect fire, a wet room, toilet and bidet.
Families will love Pine Lodge Dolomites, and for those with young children, there is an experienced nanny available for babysitting. Teens will love the home cinema room complete with Playstation 4 - somewhere to chill out and relax after an activity-filled day!
Each bedroom in the exclusive-use chalet is equipped with satellite flatscreen TV with internet radio, WiFi internet, plus hairdryer and safe. The chalet features an in-home cinema with Playstation 4, DVD collection and various children’s games, a drying room, a fitness room with cross trainer and tread mill. There is a spa area with combination sauna (steam, Finnish and infrared), relax area, wellness shower and a 7mx3m endless swimming pool with jet to swim against and a waterfall feature. Outside there is a hot tub and lovely seating area. Guests who are driving to the chalet can use the three car garage, and there is parking space outside.
Being in the heart of the Dolomites there is plenty for the active outdoor types as well as the opportunity to relax and enjoy the views or make use of the spa area in the chalet.
As Pine Lodge Dolomites is a member of the Val Gardena Active program this enables guests to take part in the majority of their activity program free of charge. Activities include hiking, biking and eBiking tours as well as GeoCaching and climbing, there are many activities every day. Guests are also provided with a Val Gardena bus card so they can get around the valley for free.
Other activities around Val Gardena include sunrise walks, nature spotting, bike tours, e-bike tours, guided hikes for all levels, guided (and non) via ferrata tours and jungle trails (hochseil garten). A real treat could be a helicopter ride from right outside the chalet door making a day out to Venice, Cortina, St Moritz or Milan a possibility.
Various excursions by helicopter are available with a departure / landing place right next to the chalet.
There is a high ropes park in the Val Gardena as well as an indoor climbing wall in nearby Selva and a swimming pool complex in Ortisei with water slides and fun pool.
For those seeking some well-deserved relaxation, in-house massages and beauty treatments are available to book.
Pine Lodge Dolomites offers options of either a bed and breakfast or fully catered chalet service, with breakfast and dinner. Staff are attentive, yet discrete, and guests can choose whether to have the butler on hand when they arrive home from the outdoors for afternoon tea, or to have the chalet to themselves. An honesty bar is used where guests are asked to sign for extra drinks. At the beginning of your stay, or from day to day, Susanna and her team agree with you what time you'd like to eat. They aim to leave guests as much privacy as possible, so between 12 o’clock and the agreed time in the afternoon there are no staff in the chalet. The butler usually arrives about two hours before dinner, and after dinner the staff stay for as long as is necessary.
There is an extensive buffet breakfast every day, daily housekeeping and fresh flowers on arrival. A stay here also includes use of bathrobes and slippers or flip flops as well as exclusive bath products.
If taking the chalet on a fully catered service dinner is served for six days during the week, and on the chef's night off, there is a fabulous choice of restaurants and pizzeria within walking distance in the village. Guests taking the chalet on a bed and breakfast basis are able to book occasional evening dinners in the chalet if they wish.

When to go
In the summer, warm temperatures during the day often feeling very pleasant in the heat of the sun and cooler overnight and first thing in the morning. The combination of hot air down in the valley and cool air at the summits can often lead to spectacular thunderstorms which are all part of the mountain experience!
