The family run Hotel Fanes Dolomiti enjoys an amazing location overlooking the quiet village of San Cassiano and the impressive peaks of the Dolomites. Guests are given warm welcomes and nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff here. The service, food and location makes guests and their children return year after year.
Families are very welcome here, in typical Italian style, and there is a supervised miniclub available for children aged 4+ with activities including a visit to the hotel's own farm next door.
Rooms are comfortable and stylishly decorated, and the restaurants, bar and living areas are cosy and welcoming. The newly built chalets are the perfect option for guests looking for more spacious and luxurious accommodation. The food here is truly delicious and a treat for those who love Italian food. There's a huge choice at the vitality breakfast which features champagne and salmon on a Sunday, the breakfast sets you up for an active day and the fine dining in the evening uses only the best quality ingredients. On return from your adventures you'll find a feast awaiting you, with sandwiches, cold meats, cheese and cakes all presented beautifully.
The extensive Spa is definitely worth a visit, with a huge range of treatments, made all the more special with its floor to ceiling windows and views of the mountains. The addition of the new 'Sky Pool' and jacuzzi really top this off as, the 25m outdoor pool, set alongside the jacuzzi on a raised platform, is where you can sit an sip a cocktail or fruit juice and admire the panoramic views.
With a wealth of activities around the area, it is popular with walkers, cyclist and climbers, the complimentary hire of mountain bikes, rucksacks and walking poles make it even more accessible. Enthusiastic about their local area the hotel even run their own active program featuring themed walks, guided sports and fitness, Nordic walking and mountain treks as well as a relaxation program with aquagym and stretching.
The Dolomites are situated in the southern Alps in the north of Italy and are very popular for road and mountain bikers along with hikers. The hikes available vary from family friendly to more challenging options where a mountain guide can be arranged. During the summer, the Dolomites turn from white to green and a number of cable cars and chairlifts are open to take walkers or cyclist up to the peaks . Other activities to enjoy include a wide range from paragliding to white-water rafting.
The Hotel Fanes is also ideal for skiing in Winter.
The choice of rooms is extensive and all have views of the mountains or over the valley. The decoration ranges from traditional Tyrolean to the more eclectic and are suitable for families or couples.
The newly built chalets offer more spacious accommodation and are ideal for guests wanting to feel a little more independent but still enjoy the fabulous hotel facilities.
The Fanes rooms have a double bed, whirlpool bath and a view over the valley or the mountains.
These are simple yet comfortable double rooms with en-suite, and views over the mountains.
The spacious Suredl rooms have a double bed, en-suite bathroom and a balcony with a view over the valley.
The Junior Suites have a double bed, separate living room, whirlpool bath, fridge bar, and a view over the mountains. Some of the suites have a balcony.

Measuring an incredible 100m2 in the seven Natura Lofts which newly opened in Winter 14/15. Each loft has a living area with balcony and fireplace, its own Finnish Sauna, shower and freestanding bath. The sofa can convert into a bed sleeping one extra person. All have wonderful views over the village of San Cassiano.

This superior and spacious suite has a double bed, separate living room with fireplace, romantic bath with dome lighting, wooden bath tub and shower unit, separate WC and bidet, fridge-bar and a balcony with a view over the valley.
|Stria - Putia||
The very spacious and luxurious Stria - Putia suites have two bedrooms, walk-in wardrobe, mini-bar and a balcony with sauna and a panoramic view.
Suitable for 2-4 guests, this chalet is 60m2. The wood panelling gives it a calming feel. It features a double room, a separate bathroom with a picturesque stand alone bath and shower and living area. The chalet has its own private access.
The Chalets Fanes is a collection of chalets that vary slightly in size but all are spacious and light accommodating from 2 guests up to 5 guests. All are independent accommodation featuring a kitchen, living area and bedroom(s) with their own access but also have the benefit of hotel facilities.
There is a fantastic children's miniclub (4 years+) in the hotel which is staffed from Sunday to Friday and open from 3pm - 10pm. With an arrange of activities on offer from an indoor climbing frame to a visit to the hotel's own farm next door.
Hotel Fanes has a fabulous spa and wellness area featuring a pine sauna, salt bath, sanarium, Turkish steam bath, brine Jacuzzi, panoramic relaxation room, indoor pool and outdoor brine pool and an Alpine sauna in the garden. The Moviment Parks are an ideal place for families to spend whole days of fun, nestled among green meadows and connected to each other by trails they feature lots of different activties. Guests can even hire a complimentary stroller so there is no need to carry one on the lift.
A lift pass for the 'Mountain Pass Alta Badia' covers the 11 summer cableways and chairlifts in Alta Badia as well as public buses in Alta Badia and over the passes of the Sella group (Grödner Joch, Sella Joch, Pordoi Pass and Campolongo Pass) and the Falzarego Pass are all covered by your unlimited-travel ticket. The staff at Hotel Fanes are only too happy to advise you on activities / trails and can even provide a guide if required.
