The magnificent family run Hotel Gardena Grödnerhof in Val Gardena is superbly located in the heart of Dolomites, with award winning service, an incredible Spa and delicious cuisine.

The Gardena Grödnerhof Hotel has been run by the Bernardi family for over eighty years, and guests here are guaranteed a genuine and exceptionally warm welcome - something that the South Tyrol is famous for. The first five star hotel in Ortisei, it soon after became a member of Relais & Châteaux and is deservedly renowned for its hospitality, superb food and an incredible Spa.

The hotel, with its typical Tyrolean architecture, stands prominently in large gardens underneath the jagged peaks of the surrounding Dolomites. Ortisei is the largest village in Val Gardena, and from here, guests can explore the South Tyrol region, and marvel at the incredible scenery that has given this area UNESCO World Heritage status. Its traditional but modern architecture on the outside is home to a sophisticatedly styled interior. Elegant rooms and suites are spacious, each one has a balcony overlooking the gardens or the village with the mountains beyond.

South Tyrol is renowned throughout Italy and beyond for its innovative cuisine, with a fusion of Alpine and Mediterranean influences. Dining at the Gardena Grödnerhof Hotel lives up to this tradition, and its Anna Stuben has a Michelin star to prove it. Food is paired immaculately with wines by the hotel’s sommelier, making eating here a memorable experience.

Some guests come here just for the Spa alone, and we highly recommend a treatment. The vast spa facilities include, a stunning swimming pool, Turkish baths, Finnish saunas, hay baths and Ayurvedic massages, the list is extensive and indulgent.

The Gardena Grödnerhof is ideally located for exploring the mountains in the summer, guests can ascend to Alpe di Suisi via the closest cable car. An array of activities are availble, the hotel offer guided hikes to discover the beauty of the area, as well as complimentary mountain bike rental with guided excusions. Other sports such as E-biking, via ferrata, golf and horse riding are all possible locally. Families will enjoy the Adventure Park Col de Flam which is situated near the gondola station of Seceda just above Ortesei, an exciting experience for the whole family.

Together with the breathtakingly beautiful surroundings and innumerable good value mountain restaurants serving exceptional quality food, it’s an exceptional place to be in both summer and winter alike.
