Description

Perched on a lush green outcrop on the Costa Smeralda, the Hotel Romazzino is set on one of the finest beaches on the island. A star-shaped, white-washed building set in gardens full of traditional Mediterranean flowers and plants, this luxurious property is made up of a collection of beautifully furnished rooms, suites and private villas. It is not far from the sophisticated town of Porto Cervo, with its marina full or super yachts, restaurants in the Piazzetta and designer shopping.

The Romazzino’s location and facilities are ideal for sports lovers, with watersports including fishing, diving and wind surfing, horse riding and the Pevero Golf Club only five kilometers away. Families are particularly welcome at the Romazzino and are treated in true generous Italian style. The Toy Club offers some of the best childcare in Sardinia, looking after children between three and seven years of age, and organising activities for children up to 12 during the peak summer months. And where could be better than being just a few steps from the beach?

The hotel’s restaurant serves delicious Mediterranean dishes, with freshly grilled lunches in the al fresco BBQ Beach Bar and an a la carte menu every evening in the main restaurant. And those in search of some pampering, can enjoy the beauty center with its extensive treatment and therapy list.

Accommodation

The Romazzino has 77 rooms, 17 suites and 6 villas, each with its own private terrace or balcony which either have stunning sea or garden views. Each one is air-conditioned and beautifully decorated with the color and vitality you would expect of a Sardinian hotel, with handmade ceramics and fabrics. All have stone mosaic bathrooms, Satellite TV, mini-bar and most have LCD Televisions and CD/DVD players.

Premium Sea View Rooms

Slightly larger than the Superior rooms at 26m², Premium rooms have full sea views and a private balcony.

Deluxe Suite

With lush garden or sea views, Deluxe Suites include a private large balcony and living area. 34m²

Premium Suite

Light and spacious, Premium Suites have a separate living area with two bathrooms and all have either a private balcony or terrace with either garden or sea views. 42m².

Royal Suite

Located on the top floor, with its own private elevator, the Royal Suite has two bathrooms, separate living area and lovely sea views over the gardens. Beautifully furnished with hand painted tiles, ostrich leather chairs and a wrought iron four poster bed. 75m²

Presidential Suite

The Presidential Suite at 95m² has breathtaking views over both the gardens and seas and with it top floor position and private elevator, is a truly fantastic space in which to unwind. It has a private 75m² terrace with Jacuzzi, separate living and dining area.

Villas

There are six gorgeous villas to choose from. Villa Ambra, Acquamarina, Zaffiro, Giada and Turchese all sleep six people. For larger groups, Villa Smeralda comfortably sleeps ten. All have their own heated private pools, 24 hour Butler Service, Full Board dining, an array of up to date technology and private beach access.

Childcare

The Romazzino operates a multi-lingual children's facility called the Toy Club. Open from 10am to 11pm, it is complimentary to all younger guests aged 3-12yrs and will keep them entertained for an hour or two. The club can also supervise mealtimes and arrange babysitting if required. There is a dedicated children's menu for both lunch and dinner, and cots and highchairs are readily available.

Facilities

The main restaurant at Romazzino offers the best in both local and international cuisine, all of which are prepared using local ingredients where possible. With a large terrace and stunning views of the Costa Smeralda, it is the perfect setting for both breakfast and dinner. For something less formal the alfresco Barbeque Restaurant, set in the glorious gardens of the hotel, creates tempting lunch buffets of fresh seafood, sumptuous pasta and homemade pizzas each day. Guests booked on full board can also enjoy a change of scene and take one meal a day (as part of the Dine Around Programme) and eat in the hotel restaurants of Cala di Volpe, Pitrizza or Cervo. For an evening aperitif, the Ginepro Bar has an intimate yet relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy a refreshing cocktail, whilst admiring the views over the Mediterranean. For light bites, the snack service at the Beach bar is available until late afternoon and it also offers a beach service if the loungers prove to much of a distraction.

Romazzino Restaurant

The main restaurant of the hotel is open for both breakfast and dinner and offers a mix of local and international dishes.

Barbecue Restuarant

Set on the beachfront, the Barbecue Restaurant is relaxed and informal and serves a wide range of buffet choices for lunch.

Ginepro Bar

Named after the traditional Juniper tree that adorns the Sardinian landscape, the Ginepro bar provides a relaxing atmosphere in which to enjoy after dinner piano music and a cocktail or two!

Activities

To see the area at its best, bicycles are available for hire and give guests the chance to enjoy the numerous tracks around the hotel, or along the coastline. The Pevero Golf Club is located a short drive away or if you want to try some watersports, enthusiasts will love the diving and water-skiing or if you prefer sailing the hotel has two Lasers which can be rented on request.

Services

There is one fresh water pool and one sea water pool, one of which has a children’s shallow area. For beach lovers, the hotel has a fully equipped private area providing a dedicated beach service. The hotel has an outdoor fitness center, which is equipped with the latest technology and there is also a floodlit synthetic grass tennis court and the Pevero Golf Club is close by. There is a florists and hairdressers on site and a Beauty Center offering beauty treatments, if you need to unwind.

The hotel provides a 24-hour room and laundry service, currency exchange, concierge service, private parking, WiFi internet in all public areas and ADSL internet is available in some rooms.

Hotel Romazzino is located 5 miles from the village of Porto Cervo on the Costa Smeralda coast. Surrounded by lawns and gardens, it has a picturesque location set back from a pure white sandy beach and overlooks the smaller Maddalena Islands.

When to go

Sardinia enjoys a warm and dry Mediterranean climate from May through to September and is renowned for the glorious weather and warm seas that bask the island for six months each year. July and August offer the best opportunities for beach lovers, when the sea temperatures average 28C. With an average of 10 hours of sunshine from May to September, Sardinia is the perfect summer season destination.
