Just meters from Li Cuncheddi beach in northern Sardinia, CalaCuncheddi is surrounded by five hectares of lush vegetation and both rocky and sandy coastline, very close to a protected marine area. Originally built in the 80s, CalaCuncheddi has just been beautifully renovated and refurbished to an exceptionally high design spec. White washed outside, in typical Sardinian style, it is airy and cool on the inside, with creamy marble floors, white furnishings and enormous windows that open out onto the numerous terraces that overlook the pool and the crystal sea beyond. All the rooms and suites are different in size, shape and style, creating an uniqueness unlike many hotels, and most have a terrace or balcony overlooking the pool, Li Cuncheddi beach and the Gulf of Olbia beyond.
CalaCuncheddi has two restaurants serving delicious local cuisine and traditional Italian dishes using fresh seasonal local produce. Breakfast and brunch is served at Asarena with its panoramic view of the pool and sea, whilst dinner is taken at Asumari near the beach. The cellar is well-stocked with some fantastic local wines, as well as a wide selection from the mainland.
Being so close to the beach, it’s easy to spend most days there or by the pool. Large sun umbrellas and loungers, make this decision quite easy. Kayaks, pedalos and sailing dinghies can be hired by those feeling a little more energetic. For the supremely relaxed, CalaCuncheddi has a Spa with a variety of treatments and therapies, from saunas, to Turkish baths and a range of massages.
Only 12km south of Olbia on the photogenic headland of Capo Ceraso, CalaCuncheddi is an ideal base from which to discover this beautiful part of Sardinia. Olbia has a very good selection of shops, bars and restaurants, whilst the pristine beaches of Porto Istana and La Cinta are only a short drive with the Costa Smeralda 30km away and Isola Tavolara just a boat ride away.
There are 79 modern, stylish guest rooms comprising Standard, Junior Suites and Suites, some with lovely sea views. All the rooms are contemporarily furnished and have a balcony or terrace, en-suite shower room (some with bath), air conditioning, telephone, satellite TV, minibar, safe, hairdryer and WiFi.

Inspired by local Sardinian and Italian cuisine, CalaCuncheddi has two restaurants for dining. Both Asumari and Asarena offer traditional dishes of roasted meat, cheeses, breads and salamis to more modern recipes which combine the island's passion for flavor. Whilst Asarena offers an array of sweet and savory choices for breakfast and brunch, Asumari, with its sea front location is the perfect setting for a romantic evening meal. The Maitre Sommelier will be happy to help you pair the perfect wine for each course.
There are three bars to choose from, including a piano bar with live music and an American themed bar.
The Wellbeing Center and Gessi Spa offer true relaxation; a sanctuary in which to regenerate or stimulate your senses with a range of small beauty treatments and massages. For the more energetic, the Techno Gym is fully equipped with the latest machines or for those looking for something less intense the Fitness center can offer a range of sporting activities that take in the local surroundings, such as riding, walking or diving.
Asarena has panoramic views over the pool and beach and is open for breakfast and lunch. It offers an excellent choice of sweet and savory dishes.
Asumari, with its romantic position a few steps from the sea, cleverly combines both traditional Sardinian dishes with a modern twist. All menu's are lovingly crafted by the hotel's head chef.
The Wellbeing Center is equipped with a Turkish bath, emotional showers, Jacuzzi, small beauty treatments, massages and hairdressers.
Sports enthusiasts will love The Technogym, which has a good selection of machines to both train and improve fitness. The Gym has breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, which can be more fully appreciated, whilst experiencing the many outside activities on offer, such as riding or snorkeling.
There is a good selection of both d and non-d water sports available on the beach. Guests can hire pedalos, canoes, laser dinghies for sailing or for the more adventurous, a 40HP engine boat with or without a skipper. Sailing, surfing and swimming lessons can also be arranged. The hotel also has a mountain bike rental service if you are feeling energetic and want to see more of the coastline.
Calacuncheddi offers complimentary WiFi (limited download capacity) to all its guests, which is available in both private and public areas. The concierge are able to organize excursions, car/scooter rental or give assistance if needed.

When to go
Sardinia enjoys a warm and dry Mediterranean climate from May through to September and is renowned for the glorious weather and warm seas that bask the island for six months each year. July and August offer the best opportunities for beach lovers, when the sea temperatures average 28C. With an average of 10 hours of sunshine from May to September, Sardinia is the perfect summer season destination.
