Belmond Hotel Splendido takes pride of place overlooking the famous port of Portofino. Many of the rooms have private terraces with views across the harbor and are decorated in a traditional fresh and light northern Italian style.

Back on dry land, La Terrazza, the classic Italian restaurant at Belmond Hotel Splendido, has arguably one of the loveliest settings in Italy and serves traditional fare with a special attention to seafood.
The hotel's saltwater pool is a highlight, particularly in the heat of the summer, and is set amid lush gardens dotted with palm trees and with spectacular views of boats bobbing in the harbor beyond. Terraced gardens make the perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenery with a glass of something cold.

The rooms types at the Belmond Hotel Splendido vary, with three different types of Double rooms, Junior suites and Suites. All rooms have touch control central air conditioning and heating, video and fax/modem facilities with multinational plugs. Bathrooms are equipped with a single vanity, heated towel-rails, scales and a fine assortment of toiletries.
Double rooms offer a choice of a garden view, sea view, or sea view with balcony, all of which are decorated in a traditional Mediterranean style with light pastel colors.
Almost all Junior suites offer incredible views of the bay, while being fitted out with polish wooden floors and extremely comfortable furniture.
Finally, the Suites, which have been recently refurbished, offer two or more terraces maximising the unique views of the Italian Riviera. Many have walk in wardrobes and the spacious bathrooms offer luxurious toiletries, the softest towels and dressing gowns. The rooms are furnished with plush sofas and king-size or twin beds. Once again these are decorated in a light, traditional Mediterranean style.

The most spacious room type. Beautifully decorated in delicate pastel colors that complement perfectly the breathtaking views of the bay and surrounding area.

Luxuriously furnished with polished wooden floors and plush, comfortable furniture, almost all of these suites offer sea views.
Each of the bathrooms have double vanity mirrors, separate WC, walk-in shower and bath tub. Some also offer a spacious walk-in wardrobe.

These magnificent suites come with spectacular views of the Gulf and the harbor from the balconies or terraces. Some have two terraces, which are equipped with sun-beds, table and chairs and are ideal for enjoying an al fresco breakfast or relaxing in the sunshine.
|Junior Suite Executive||
Executive Junior Suites offer unbeatable views from a spacious, sun-filled suite. With polished-wood floors and luxurious fabrics these Junior Suites have a terrace or balcony and a spacious bathroom. With a king-size bed, marble bathroom, writing desk. From 35 m2.
The bedrooms, often with walk-in dressing rooms, are spacious and decorated in luxurious color schemes. Some suites feature two terraces with breathtaking sea views, others have balconies or terraces.
Recently refurbished, these are the largest and most aesthetically situated suites, offering breathtaking views from the balconies or terraces overlooking Portofino's cove and the Tigullio Gulf. They also offer very large bathrooms with separate shower cubicles, bath tubs and beautifully furnished double vanity basins and armoires.
This one-bedroom suite, like the Executive has recently been refurbished. However unlike the Exectutive offers four magnificent terraces overlooking Portofino's cove and the Tigullio Gulf.
The bathroom has marble flooring, a round bath tub, separate shower cubicle, double vanities and armoires and a beautiful mosaic. High end toiletries, beautifully soft towels and dressing gowns add to the feeling of indulgent luxury.
Two Bedroom Presidential Suite
On request, an executive junior suite can be connected to the master suite, creating the ultimate in luxurious relaxation. Can be equipped with king-size or twin beds.

Children are welcome to come and stay at Belmond Hotel Splendido and the Smile Club can keep your little ones occupied whilst you get some deserved time out for yourselves. There are also children's activities classes available such as tennis lessons and art lessons. The restaurant has a child friendly menu and there are a variety of family DVDs in the room.
There are two fantastic restaurants at Belmond Hotel Splendido, both of which serve superb local cuisine. La Terrazza is the gourmet restaurant and offers succulent seafood, a range of pasta dishes and other Italian and regional specialties, while the Pool restaurant serves al fresco, buffet-style lunches and snacks, including regional specialties, delicious pizza and a variety of drinks.
The hotel's Beauty and Wellness center offers a vast range of Spa treatments, Pilates and Yoga classes, creating a wonderfully relaxing experience in a stunning setting.
The terrace, filled with the fragrance of beautiful scented flowers and plants, offers breathtaking views over Portofino Bay and the Tigullio Gulf. The delightfully mild climate of the Italian Riviera ensures pleasant open-air dining for most of the year.
The indoor dining room offers a more formal atmosphere, with an elegant décor of hand-painted walls and hardwood floors throughout. It seats a maximum of 120 people.
For golf lovers, there are two golf clubs in Rapallo and Albenga, each offering championship-quality courses. There is also an all-weather tennis court in the hotel for the more active guest. Boat hires are available from Portofino town and are a great way to explore the local area.

When to go
Portofino is a year round destination. The major tourist season is during the summer, when a majority of the annual events and festivals in the area are taking place. This is also an excellent time for sailing races which are popular in the area and draw many tourists in. However, in terms of weather, the months just before and after the busy tourist season may be the best time to head to Portofino.
