The best time to visit the Amalfi Coast is in spring or late summer, when temperatures are pleasant and humidity levels are low. In July and August the climate is hot and humid, while the area is busy with tourists. Hotels in the Amalfi Coast tend to close for the winter, starting in October until they reopen in late March or April.

Garden and Villas Resort, set amongst 30,000 square meters of beautiful sub-tropical gardens is the ideal place to relax for a couple of days. It's position makes it the perfect base from which to explore the sights of the wonderful island of Ischia.
Garden and Villas Resort is perfectly placed just 500m from Piazza Santa Restituta, the heart of the town of Lacco Ameno, and is surrounded by acres of peaceful, lush gardens. Brimming with Mediterranean plants and herbs, walkways are beautifully scented with rosemary and lavender and shaded by palm trees and there are lots of lovely spots to sit and read a book.
The hotel's 50 rooms are housed in nine Mediterranean style villas with balconies or terraces overlooking the gardens. Bedrooms are spacious and have marble bathrooms, most with Jacuzzi bathtubs.
There is a huge outdoor heated swimming pool and a lovely pool area equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas. The main restaurant, Il Corbezzolo, is at the end of the pool and serves absolutely fantastic typical Mediterranean fare - mouthwatering seafood and the freshest locally sourced produce - much of which comes straight from the hotel's vegetable patch. The buffet is sensational - piled high with Ischian pastries, delicious home-made marmalades, honey and bread, fresh fruit and plenty more!
There is so much to do in Ischia and Garden and Villas is the perfect base. A short walk from Lacco Ameno which offers a great choice of wonderful local restaurants, lively bars and shops; even closer to the Bay of San Montano and the infamous Negombo thermal spa gardens. A day's boat trip exploring the coves and bays of the island, or further afield to Capri is a must, as well as exploring the island's sights.
The Garden and Villas' owners, Luigi and Rita are the icing on the cake at this lovely hotel - completely charming and from the moment you arrive will do anything and everything to ensure you have what you need for a wonderful stay.
Garden and Villas 50 rooms are housed in classic whitewashed Mediterranean-style villas dotted around the garden. All have air-conditioning, WiFi, Flat screen TV's, minibars and many have balconies or terraces.
Up to 38 sq m in size, these elegant rooms feature marble floors and bathrooms. The rooms also boast a large terrace with a view of the grounds, free beach towels and soft drinks.
26-34 sq m rooms overlook the Gulf of Naples featuring luxury furnishings and marble floors and bathrooms. The rooms come with a king size bed and include complimentary soft drinks and beach towels.
32 sq m double rooms have extra large double beds and come with free soft drinks and beach towels. The highlight of the room is the spacious terrace with its own Jacuzzi.
42 sq m, also with Jacuzzi on the terrace overlooking the grounds and include separate bedroom and lounge.
61 sq m of spacious elegance and has a double and a single bedroom. The suite also boast a large lounge area and a spacious terrace with Jacuzzi and a view of the sea.
Children are most welcome at Garden and Villas though there are no specific facilities for them. Babysitters can be organized.
The hotel's fabulous restaurant il Corbezzolo serves absolutely incredible traditional Neapolitan dishes, exquisite fresh seafood, vegetables and amazing mozzarella! There is another bar up the steps from the pool where you can have a delicious drink and canapés before supper.
There is so much to do and see in Ischia, and there are far less crowds than you might find in other more well-known areas of Italy. Explore the beaches of the island or take a boat trip to discover new coves and bays. Visit the lovely Spa Gardens, spend the day rejuvenating at the Negombo thermal garden. Scuba diving can be organized and you can discover the ancient Roman ruins underwater.

Such a good choice for something a bit less expensive. Lovely location, absolutely stunning gardens, charming and helpful staff, spacious rooms, really fab pool area and the food was some of the best I've tasted in Italy!

Garden and Villas Resort is located just 500m from the lively town of Lacco Ameno in the north west of Ischia, a 45-minute hydrofoil from Naples.
How to get there
British Airways offer a direct service from London Gatwick to Naples International airport. The flight time is 2-hours and 40-minutes. You'll be met at the airport and transferred to Molo Beverello port where you will take a hydrofoil to Forio or Casamicciola Terme where you will be collected by a hotel representative.
