This hotel offers a fresh look of a white-on-white pallette which stands out against the blue skies and sea. With its clean lines, sleek furnishing complemented with contemporary artwork, it's hard not to fall for it's elegant simplicity. It helps that food and service are first rate too!

Casa Angelina is a luxury hotel situated halfway between Amalfi and Positano in the small village of Praiano. The hotel has striking and simple white interiors which draw your eyes to the outdoors and the beautiful blue sea views throughout the hotel. This hotel is chic, calm and quiet - it truly feels like a retreat. Breakfast and dinner in the top floor restaurant, Un Piano nel Cielo, were both delicious and full of choice. One of my favourite surprises at Casa Angelina - the Jo Malone bath products in every room! Casa Angelina is a great option for couples looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of other Amalfi Coast destinations.

Casa Angelina provides a chance to relax and unwind away from the busy Amalfi Coast. Located in Praiano, a quiet area between Positano and Amalfi, Casa Angelina offers a sophisticated adult sanctuary where understated chic is the key ingredient. With a cliffiside location you are in the perfect place from which to watch the sunset behind the Faraglioni and Capri on the horizon. With an exquisitely presented menu you must make time to dine at the rooftop restaurant Un Piano Nel Cielo and enjoy food from the Campania area. The restaurant offers stunning views of the coast and sea and makes for a perfect spot for dinner or breakfast. Every detail is taken care of including a nine page water menu. The highlight of our stay at Casa Angelina was watching the trolley laden with blocks of chocolate circle the restaurant - make sure it stops at your table!

For those looking for a more private, intimate experience, Casa Angelina certainly delivers on location and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding coastline. The sunsets to be seen from the terrace in the evening are difficult to beat! To access this stylish, boutique property requires a steady descent down the cliff edge, which highlights the seclusion of the hotel from the hustle and bustle of the surrounding coastal towns. Casa Angelina is predominantly couple orientated, offering attentive and professional service amidst a peaceful ambience.

Casa Angelina was the perfect hotel for my new husband and I to enjoy our mini-moon. Our first day was spent relaxing and just soaking up the fantastic view. We sampled the beach club which is worth the 200 plus steps. The sea is beautifully clear with a large roped off area for safe swimming. Both the indoor and outdoor pool at Casa Angelina are quite small, so if you really want to do some proper swimming then a trip to the beach club is a must. Whilst the club is not run by Casa Angelina - guests can enjoy front row sun loungers and complimentary water - the service was excellent. Music is played which is a touch loud and wasn't to my taste so I would advise taking your ipod and headphones, or if you want absolute peace then choose to lie by the pool back up at the hotel which is extremely tranquil.

The hotel's location between Positano and Amalfi means sightseeing is exceptionally easy, especially during short stays. We used the hotel's shuttle to Positano (worth booking at the start of the day to ensure a place) which is a 10-15 minute drive away and also braved the coastal road bus to Amalfi and onto Ravello. Taxis are also very easily arranged although prices are high.

My expectations of Casa Angelina were extremely high and I certainly wasn't disappointed. Our Romantic Sea View room was a tad compact but functioned perfectly and the balcony with THAT view was the perfect place to sit and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. I was extremely impressed by the food at breakfast and dinner. The breakfast buffet was plentiful with a good selection of fresh fruits, yoghurts, cereals, pastries, meats, cheeses and bread along with a menu of cooked egg options. Dinner was delicious (reservation is a must to ensure a space on the terrace) with attentive service.

All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful during our stay and I loved the extra touches such as homemade ice lollies being offered to guests sunbathing by the pool.

Such a clean white chic design with amazing views from upon high and out across the sea. The beach club is great, but make sure you don't forget your sun cream or book, as the 200 steps back up should only be done once a day!

Such a fantastic hotel, the service is absolutely amazing, nothing is too much trouble. The hotel has the most spectacular views, a fab beach club where you are very well looked after.

Mrs Carey Tesler (Guest)

We spent two nights at this stylish boutique hotel on a four-destination tour of the coast. Casa Angelina occupies a gorgeous setting, nestling into the cliffs one bay beyond Positano and accessed via a precarious zigzag driveway below the main road. The position is ideal - there's a regular 5-minute shuttle to and from Positano so you can take full advantage of that town's bustling labyrinth of shops and restaurants but then escape back to the calm tranquillity of the hotel. Casa Angelina's design and decor is modishly handsome - stark white minimalist rooms offset by warm wood floors in the common parts and gloriously quirky Murano glass sculptures throughout, even perched on ledges on the outside of the building. Plus a small but funky lift lit by constantly changing multi-coloured bulbs. Staff are all dressed like Thai masseurs, in matching cool grey linen long-shirts and loose trousers. Our corner terrace bedroom was a little smaller than some of the others, but had the advantage of a larger bathroom with its own views of Positano and out over the bay. (Most other rooms have an internal bathroom).

Space is at something of a premium here, so be prepared for the very pleasant but slightly cramped sun terrace and its equally space-challenged pool - three or four strokes will get you from one end to the other. Food was excellent - probably the best overall of any of the four hotels we visited. Don't be put off by the restaurant's low-key decor and pretentious menu (including a separate menu of bottled waters, offering ten or more different choices, including one Swarovski-encrusted bottle priced at E130). Despite slightly nervous service, our dinner was extremely good (my tempura starter was among the best and crispest I've ever tasted, in Japan or anywhere else). Breakfast the following morning was also excellent, with an imaginative and expansive selection of mouth-watering buffet items. A light lunch in the bar was also very good indeed.

When you're not in shopping in Positano or relaxing in the hotel, make sure you take the opportunity to have a wander around Praiano itself. On our second night we had a very pleasant but more rustic meal in local restaurant Il Pino, a short walk from the hotel through an enchanting maze of alleys and steep stairways, accessed via the hotel's back door. (Take a torch and mind your step!). The town was gearing up for the local saint's festival day so on our way back to the hotel after dinner we were able to enjoy an open-air classical concert and fireworks in the charming square in front of Praiano's little church, alongside villagers of all ages from 8 to 80.

Casa Angelina is a breath of fresh air on the Amalfi Coast, with a young, contemporary atmosphere compared with so many of the Grande Dame hotels you find along this popular stretch of coastline. It's an ideal retreat for honeymooners and couples looking for a relaxing getaway for a short break or week-long holiday. The hotel's excellent restaurant, Un Piano nel Cielo, and pool area all have breathtaking views over to Positano, which can be reached by the hotel's shuttle bus. My favourite aspect of the hotel was the striking art work in the communal spaces - especially the Murano glass sculptures which use vibrant primary colours that contrast to the hotel's white interior decor. A blissful modern escape - I can't wait to return.
