The best time to visit the Amalfi Coast is in spring or late summer, when temperatures are pleasant and humidity levels are low. In July and August the climate is hot and humid, while the area is busy with tourists. Hotels in the Amalfi Coast tend to close for the winter, starting in October until they reopen in late March or April.

Bellevue Syrene is a charming luxury hotel positioned in a picturesque spot overlooking the sparkling blue waters of the Bay of Naples with the majestic Mount Vesuvius as a backdrop. A perfect spot to immerse yourself in the life of old town Sorrento.
Located in the stunning cliff sides of the Bay of Naples, Bellevue Syrene is beautifully placed hotel rising out of the ancient ruins of a Roman Villa.
This Relais & Chateaux boutique hotel consists of 50 luxury rooms and suites. Rooms are large and elegantly furnished, interiors blending traditional features with more contemporary finishes. Most boast sea views and balconies. Those wanting something unique should opt for the Roccia Suite that is built into an ancient Roman Cave and has its own private Jacuzzi pool.
There are two restaurants as well as a wine tasting cellar enabling quests to discover local wines in an authentic Roman Grotto. The main and formal restaurants Mimmo Jodice and the Gli Archi offer breathtaking views and fantastic Italian cuisine. In the Summer months, they open La Pergola which is on the outdoor terraces overlooking the sea, this is a snack bar and restaurant in the day turning into a piano bar in the evenings. There is a club lounge open from 10am until 8pm which offers snacks, drinks and coffees for guests.
There is also a spa and hammam at the hotel for guests to relax in and a small quick-dip pool to cool off in on a longer-lined sunbathing deck poised above the sea.
Guests can explore the nearby ancient ruins of Pompeii as well as head the picturesque Positano. Capri is a short ferry ride away from Sorrento and offers fantastic designer shops and restaurants.
Accommodation
Bellevue Syrene has 50 rooms, including eight suites. Rooms are spacious and individually designed and most have spectacular vistas. The Suites are unique here with the Rock Suite being there most impressive; set into the side of a Roman Cave this suite has its own private Jacuzzi pool.
Childcare
Children of all ages are very welcome to come and stay at Bellevue Syrene. The hotel can provide cots for babies and toddlers under the age of 2 years for free and under 12s can stay in an extra bed in their parents room for an additional cost. A babysitting service or nanny can be arranged with 24 hours notice and they can provide a child friendly menu.
Facilities
Don Giovanni and the Gli Archi offer fresh Mediterranean food in a beautiful setting with large panoramic sea views. The Lounge club offers snacks and drinks through the day and in the summer months you can sit outside on the terraces at La Peragola. The spa offers treatments and facials and has a hammam. The outdoor pool is one to have a quick dip and cool off in and offers sun lounges for those wanting to soak up the sun.

I really liked this hotel! Conveniently located, not far off the main piazza of Sorrento, with lovely sea views and interconnecting rooms, it is great for families. Also, not far from Pompeii, so the ideal place to stay if you wanted a guided tour of this fascinating historical town.
