Aqua Explorers watersports at Eagles Palace
Taking advantage of the warm, shallow waters, and gentle breezes, the Explorers kids club at Eagles Palace runs an 18 hours a week, dedicated watersports program which is conveniently split over 6 days, in alternating 3 hour morning or afternoon sessions. Designed for children between 5 and 13 years old, the Aqua program provides an ideal introduction to sailing, paddle boarding, kayaking, waterskiing, windsurfing and for older children, even diving.
RYA qualified (or equivalent) instructors lead Junior and Senior groups each day in 10:00 – 13:00 or 14:30 – 17:30 sessions with fun and innovative activities, always ensuring that the children’s needs and abilities are met as well as taking into consideration the weather and water conditions, whilst adhering to strict RYA safety guidelines. Each group has a maximum of 6 children and buoyancy aids are provided.
From SUP basics to learning to sail a simple course in a dinghy, from kayaking to a snorkel spot to staying up on a windsurf, each day is filled with fun and new experiences, hopefully leaving your children with a love of watersports.
All the watersports equipment is perfect for children learning the basics, with Picos for dinghy sailing, a Soling keel boat that the instructors can take the children out in on supervised sessions, beginner windsurf boards and rigs, paddle boards and kayaks.
At the end of the week, a Regatta is held where all the children can compete in some short fun races, followed by a prize giving with certificates. Please note that whilst the watersports program is run by RYA qualified instructors (or equivalent), Eagles Palace is not an accredited center, therefore children are unable to gain RYA qualifications.
