Just over three hours flying time and a 50-minute car transfer is all it takes to get you to Halkidikis poshest hotel. Could Sani Resort be as good as its glowing reviews? On first impressions, absolutely yes! Set in a privately owned ecological reserve with its own yacht marina and four distinctive hotels spread over 7 kms of golden sandy beaches and magnificent pine forests, it quickly became clear why the Sani Resort is so popular.
It's the kind of establishment where things just tick along like clockwork. We were greeted at reception by a team of enthusiastic management whilst in the background porters discreetly handle our bags. The Sani Resort has all the facilities you would expect of a larger hotel - 16 restaurants and almost the same amount of bars, a handful of pools, three spas, three kids clubs, tennis, watersports and a collection of boutiques to name just a few. But despite its size, it feels thoughtful and intimate. You can order a picnic and pedal bicycles; it's possible to cosy up under starry skies to watch a live performance in the open air theater or charter one of the hotel's yachts to secluded coves for romantic beach barbecues a deux is another option. We've found out all of this from the manual in our suite.
I should probably mention from the off that we brought our 16-month-old girl with us. It was her first foray into luxury hotelville since walking and she is capable of making quite a bit of noise. But we didn't have to worry. Throughout our stay she was treated like a rock star, cooed over by waitresses, spoiled with mouth-watering meals and entertained for hours exploring her new surroundings.
We had booked a one bedroom family suite at the Sani Beach hotel. It was the sea view and separate living room to bedroom that sold it to us. There's plenty of space to lounge about in here among the king size dream bed covered in crisp white cotton and roomy sofas. It's pretty minimalist, making good use of natural materials, cream-tiled floors, rattan furniture, tropical shower cabin with an oversized corner bathtub and Anne Semonin goodies. But really our room is all about what's outside: the panoramic sea views from our extensive balcony elicited a squeal of delight from our toddler so shrill that across seas somewhere in Corfu glasses smashed. Looooooook! she yelled excitedly and I agreed its breathtaking, the views stretching for miles across the dazzling ocean.
Sani resort works so well because it is an archipelago of different hotels catering very effectively to different kinds of guests. Facilities are of a high standard and staff impeccably trained across the resort. A lot of thought goes into how the place is run - so it's large enough for variety, but also feels personal. Each beach is serviced by a team of beach buddies offering delicious refreshments and snacks direct to your sun bed and children have not been forgotten either with an array of beach games, toys and inflatables on offer to play with. Also available and very popular is the babewatch beach service where experienced staff will watch your children while parents take a break (the first 30 minutes are free of charge).
One afternoon, while playing tennis, we saw a family pull into the car park. They were English and they booked their vacation with Scott Dunn, the tennis coach said, completely unaware of our secret identities. This was their first visit and they said they were coming back in August. They just loved the freedom to do what they wanted. They could eat in a different restaurant every night, they could order room service and their kids could run around. It was a real vacation for them all!
Evenings are as glorious as the days here. The only tough decision is which restaurant to eat at and will they have availability for us. Our trusted babysitter organized through the Melissa Crche is wonderful. She was a local girl but spoke very good English and promptly arrived at 7.30pm every night enabling us to have some adult time (at 10 per hour it's worth every penny), however, children are welcome in the majority of restaurants come day or night. It was our last night and we decided to go all out and dine at the exclusive Japanese Sea You Up Restaurant overlooking the marina. Cocktails at the sleek bar with ambient music got us started as we watched boats threaded with lights make their way across the waves. Soon we were summoned, along with an expectant party of guests. Tables were laid out, candles were lit, and a cavalry of waiters were dispatched to tend to us. The meal was so divine. Warm scallop sashimi with ginger, chives and sesame, robata grilled rib eye steak with carrot harissa and sweet chilli jam and chocolate fondant with shichimi caramel and coconut ice cream accompanied by an exciting wine list.
We returned to our room and from our balcony were treated to the spectacle of a rare electric storm. We looked at each other and at the same time said we'd better get saving for next year.

Wonderful, especially the Sani Beach Club, we looked at all and the amenities and service are fantastic.
Lexi was superb, she definitely understood what we wanted and recommended the right place for us. Having looked around the resort, she took our tastes and wishes into opinion and created the right perfect vacation choice. My contact with Cecile regarding our documents and transfers were also first class. Everything was beautifully presented.
A top class company that puts guest satisfaction above everything else! Thank you so much.
The most beautiful resort I have been to outside the Caribbean and service that just cant be beaten - we felt special.

Sani was perfect for our young family. Mostly all the restaurants were kid friendly - the food was mostly top notch, a few restaurants stood out quality wise but we were not disappointed in any. The service was quick and all our requests were taken care of right away. Our room was a good size (one bedroom suite with garden at Porto Sani). We especially liked the garden for enjoying the sun while the kids napped. KD May 13

Porto Sani Village was really lovely - very well looked after and easy to stay in. The food itself was good. Particularly the greek taverna. However we found the half board system to be very restrictive. Unless you want to eat buffets or set menus every day you lose money. EL June 13

We love it at Sani- it was our second stay. The children have such fun riding around on their bikes and playing on the beach. The sea is warm and safe. The staff at Sani are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble for them. The rooms are very comfortable and clean (2 bedroom family suite at Porto Sani), and there is a great choice of restaurants. The Japanese restaurant was fantastic. Service everywhere was very good and staff were all friendly and always welcoming to children. I went bird watching on the wetlands next to the Sani resort. The guide was excellent- very knowledgable and friendly. The wetlands are well worth a visit as there are some beautiful birds there. We saw flamingoes, marsh
harriers and kingfishers, as well as lots of turtles!
The only slight negative was that the pools were FREEZING at the end of October and too cold to use (even the indoor one was pretty cool), which is not great with small children.
Sani is a wonderful resort with something to offer everyone. JP Oct 13
A private beach and views of Mount Olympus - what's not to love about the Sani, Halkidiki?
With views over Mount Olympus and the Aegean, the soft white sand and shallow water on Sanis private beach are perfect for tiny tootsies.
The long established Babewatch service, where experienced staff watch children while parents take a break, is available for those wanting to sunbathe in peace. And you neednt ever leave your sunlounger, as Beach Buddies deliver refreshments and snacks on request.
The Ofsted standard childrens clubs are run by UK childcare specialists and offer a range of activities including pool games, face-painting and arts and crafts.

My favorite hotel was the Sani Beach Club. The sea views are stunning across the bay. Each nautically designed room is elevated with great outdoor space for relaxing and playing. It is a quieter end of the resort with its own kid's club and beach, yet it is only 10 minutes walk from the Marina.

The long white sandy beach, lush rolling hills dissolving into the crystal clear water and the yachts and boats bobbing away in the marina. It's easy to think that you're enjoying a rum cocktail in the caribbean rather than a Mojito in the Greek islands! The Sani beach resort is the perfect resort to escape the everyday routine of life and indulge in all the luxuries on offer. My perfect day was and invigorating early morning swim followed by a breakfast at Asteria suites. A couple of hours on the beach escaping with a good book, before a Greek meze at the Ouzerie. Tennis and a bike ride through the Sani forest. This was followed by back & neck message and sauna in the Spa. The evenings involved pre dinner drinks at the Marina whilst the sun set before dinner at the Tomata. My perfect Mediterranean getaway!

Situated on the first peninsular of Halkidiki - Kassandra, Sani occupies a stunning location in a bay with white sand and clear shallow water, perfect for children paddling. The resort is family orientated which each of the four hotels offering family accommodation, an array of great restaurants and wonderful views. The two kids clubs are conveniently located near the Sani Hotel and in the Beach Club, both of which offer an exciting activity schedule for children of all ages. The beach 'Babe Watch' service is great and very popular, you can leave your baby for up to 30 minutes complimentary with a nanny, this is located near the Beach Hotel. The resort has every sport and activity imaginable to keep every member of the family happy yet a stunning location with first class facilities to indulge in.

Walking into the sani beach hotel I was really amazed at how well it had all been done up since the last season. It has been renovated to a very high standard and so now people can enjoy very luxurious surroundings in an amazing setting. The marina is very impressive and is perfect for families looking for large choice if restaurants and great for children just pottering around. It is great if you are looking to be close to a town or something as it is its own little town anyway. All of the food is superb and Sani resort have obviously spent a lot of time investing in the restaurants making sure it keeps its 5* service throughout. The rooms all work very well for families and actually I can understand why so many families return year after year, they have everything they want but ll in one resort without ever having to leave their resort.

The Sani Beach Resort offers something for everyone - whether you're a couple wanting to soak in the sun by day and the atmosphere by night, or a family wanting a safe, sandy beach and lots of lovely food, look no further!
The resort is vast - it is a family owned ecological reserve set in 1,000 acres. The marina in the center of the resort is a hidden gem to the yachting fraternity offering all the facilities needed to re-fuel and provision! It also lends the resort a certain cosmopolitan feel, surrounded by bars and restaurants it is the place to come to at night.
The Beach Club offers great accommodation and there are a lot of connecting room options. The views from the suites are fantastic, looking out over the bay towards Mount Olympus.
With swimming pools dotted around the resort there is plenty to do for children. The resort offers the Melissa Mini Club and Creche for children age 4 months - 12 years and there is a Teens Club for 12 - 17 year olds. The program is action packed with activities on and off the water.
At the end of the day, each vacation is about dining and you really can't go wrong at this resort! The 'Ouzerie' near the Beach Club is a beautifully appointed Greek Taverna overlooking the Aegean with a soft breeze blowing through. 'Tamata' in the marina serves Mediterranean food with a twist and some of the best wine is on offer here. If you like Italian, the 'Macaroni Trattoria' also in the marina is a lovely place for the whole family. If you have the energy for a night cap then head to 'See You' bar where you will find the longest cocktail list! The Apple Martini is a must!
