The climate in Greece is warm and sunny for the majority of the year with the risk of the odd shower of rain and some cooler periods over the winter. From April/May onwards the weather settles but it can sometimes be cool in the evenings. By mid/end of May, the weather generally settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings especially in July and August when it can be very hot. Rain is unlikely but it can happen from time to time. May to October are particularly pleasurable months.

Located in the tiny village of Koita in the Peloponnese's Mani Peninsula, Citta dei Nicliani is a family-run hotel ideal for a peaceful getaway. The hotel is comprised of three ancient stone towers which date back as far as the 18th century, showcasing the protected architecture typical of this region.

The rustic style of Citta dei Nicliani's exterior continues in the design of the guest rooms, where the original stone walls and wooden beam ceilings are exposed. Rooms are simply decorated using neutral tones, with a handful of antique furnishings and special touches such as centuries-old artifacts preserved in the floors. Every room has a distinctive layout and style ensuring each has its own unique character.

Outside, the spacious terrace offers beautiful views of the hills and ancient towers of the region. Although there is no pool, this is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the tranquillity as you admire the unspoiled scenery below. Here, or in the cosy pavilion, you'll enjoy your meals courtesy of the father of the family, who prepares delicious, traditional Greek dishes using ingredients from the region. With an emphasis on friendly, personal service, guests are well looked after by the owners, and you may even have the opportunity to join the family on their trip to the harbor to pick your own seafood from the local fisherman - it doesn't get any fresher than this!

As well as boasting delectable Greek cuisine, Citta dei Nicliani is home to an extensive wine cellar with over a hundred Greek wines. Guests can discover the world of Greek wine with a customized wine tasting session in the hotel, or alternatively in wineries around the Peloponnese region. In the autumn months it's also possible to visit a nearby olive oil press and discover how one of Greece's most famous products is made.
