Description

Nestling in grounds of five acres, Les Fermes de Marie in Megève is a luxury five star hotel formed of nine beautiful chalets along with three restaurants and a spa, making it an ideal choice for a luxury vacation in the Alps during the summer.

The hotel is part of the family owned Sibuet Maisons & Hotels group and is located just a short 10 minute walk from the center of Megève (or a two minute drive). The five acres of grounds and private gardens are full of fragrant flowers where you can relax and enjoy the sunshine and fresh mountain air.

The nine chalets started life several centuries ago as farmhouses and were each painstakingly salvaged and meticulously re-built to create the 70-bedroom hotel in 1989 by Joseph Sibuet. Each and every stone, beam and antique is filled with history thus creating a unique and enchanting atmosphere, the epitome of a luxury retreat.

Accommodation is made up of rooms and suites, with plenty of options for families. The children will love the Hameau des Enfants, the on-site and very spacious children's club.

When it comes to dining, there are a choice of two on-site restaurants, and those opting for half board can dine in a further two restaurants in the center of Megève. The comfortable bar area is ideal for a relaxing drink (or two) on one of the leather sofas and the library area is an ideal spot for those seeking a little peace and quiet.

After a day outdoors, the Pure Altitude Spa offers a world of respite with its extensive facilities including an indoor pool and 17 treatment rooms. Pure Altitude is a brand of cosmetic treatment products that use plant extracts with active ingredients from over 50 mountain plants that have anti-oxidant and remineralising properties.

Offering a wide range of summer activities Megève is a very attractive village, very French, upmarket and glamorous. There is something on offer for everyone from hiking / biking trails to more extreme sports of canyoning and paragliding.

Its proximity to Geneva makes it ideal for anyone wanting to avoid a long transfer.

Despite the hotel having 70 bedrooms, 2 swimming pools and nearly 20 spa treatment rooms (yes 20!) this hotel has such an intimate feel to it. It feels like coming to home to a cosy alpine chalet, and not at all like a large hotel. The hotel is split into 9 chalets, each one built with wood sourced locally from old farm houses. The setting is so beautiful, and the gardens are stunning. The hotel is set off from the center of the village, just a short walk along the pretty river path, so it has a very private feel to it.

Perfect for families, the kids club is huge! They put lots of activities on in the school vacations, like magic shows, cooking lessons and film clubs. The spa wow! This has everything you need to relax, lots of different plunge pools and a separate family swimming pool and adult only pool. In the summer, you can eat your dinner out in the pretty garden. The restaurant is just as charming to eat in though, with high ceilings. The menu is classic and substantial. The burrata is amazing! There are great family room options here with interconnecting options and suites. My favorite is two-bedroom Rochbrune chalets with are private and set in the gardens, with two floors. Perfect for small families and with all the facilities of a hotel!
