Description
With its exceptional location, close to the village square and the gondola that takes you to Rochebrune, this self styled "trappers lodge", is a cosy and intimate retreat. Tartan, fur and hunting trophies meet designer furniture and lighting, giving this hotel a decidedly rock 'n' roll look and feel. Guests are made to feel instantly welcome and the concierge service is on hand to organize anything you may need.
The Lodge Park's location can't be beaten, and it has made it a popular and convivial place to meet at lunch and in the evenings for an aperitif. The roaring log fire and welcoming atmosphere are what strike you most after the fabulous décor, whilst the outdoor bar has a heated terrace. Megève has a fine selection of restaurants, which really should be tried, whilst the hotel itself boasts the fantastic Beef Lodge. Here you're spoiled with the mouth watering choice of regionally produced meats from some of France's top breeders.
Spa lovers will want to use the facilities here. The Nordic style spa has an indoor pool, five therapy rooms, a sauna, hammam and Jacuzzi, with treatments created from extracts from over 50 mountain plants.

Facilities
The Lodge Park Bar is one of the most trendy yet relaxed places for après ski in Megève. The atmosphere is remniscent of a North American ski lodge - cosy up with a hot chocolate by the fireplace or a signature cocktail on the outdoor terrace, wrapped up in fur blankets.
The on-site restaurant, The Beef Lodge is adorned with hunting trophies and animal skins and is the most fantastic steak house, serving the very best cuts of meat from top breeders.
Described as a "Nordic expedition", the Pure Altitude Spa at the Lodge Park was refurbished in 2014 with a new indoor pool added to the Wellness area which also includes a sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, fitness room and treatment rooms.
Activities
The ski area surrounding Megève is deceptively big - 445km of slopes are included on the 'Evasion Mont Blanc' lift pass which includes the spa town of St Gervais plus 120km of slopes in Les Contamines. The skiing surrounding Megève is divided into three areas, Le Jaillet, Mont d'Arbois and Rochebrune, the latter offering the quieter slopes and attractive runs. The highest point, Côte 2000 offers the most challenging skiing and being north-facing, the best snow. Mont d'Arbois is the main beginner area.
Away from the slopes, Megève has much to offer including an ice rink and a very well-equipped sports center with a large indoor swimming pool.
When to go
Megève has a typically Alpine climate, with low temperatures (often sub-zero) between December and March and then warming up. Its proximity to Mont Blanc has a benign influence on its climate, guaranteeing more snow than in resorts of a similar altitude an quite often there are good snowfalls in April.
