Beckoff Family - September 2018 (Guest)

Childcare was excellent. Charlotte is a great nanny and was great with Max! We felt 100% comfortable leaving Max with her and Lindsey. We will definitely recommend their services to our friends and family.

Bald Family - September 2018 (Guest)

We didn't use the childcare but babysitting one night which was excellent. Anne was amazing and helped us with so many questions. She sorted out the room layout so our children could be in one room, accessed a coffee maker, advised and booked our meals and trips out. She even helped us to organize a sailing trip with a skipper for a morning which was brilliant and not a standard trip. This was as well as a trip to Dubrovnik and a day on a speedboat!

We have traveled with Scott Dunn many times before. Yet again we are beyond impressed they get everything right and go that little bit extra! We did not really use the childcare this time but in future trips we might dip back in.

Grounsell Family - August 2018 (Guest)

Some lovely touches... Complimentary kids plates, cups and cutlery sets.  Hamper of food and drink on arrival.  Bed rails set up on the kids beds when we arrived. Kids club kit bags.

Lall Family - August 2018 (Guest)

Anne as guest relations manager was very helpful, welcoming and thoughtful. Small things like leaving pasta and sauce in the kitchen and some wine was a nice touch! When we had an issue she sorted it straight away.  Range of childcare staff, all very good although we got to know Lindsay the best as she did most of the babysitting for us in the evenings and always on time, polite and reliable.

Puri Family - July 2018 (Guest)

Traveling with small children can be stressful. The resort recommended by Alice was perfect for us. The facilities were excellent and the person you have on the ground was very helpful.

Denny Family - June 2018 (Guest)

5* childcare - can't recommend highly enough. In fact the whole service was 5* from start to finish.

Wayman Family - May 2018 (Guest)

We have been thoroughly impressed with Scott Dunn and Sun Gardens, having the Kids Club has turned a weeks vacation during half term into almost a second honeymoon!

Russo Family - June 2018 (Guest)

We have loved our vacation in Croatia with Scott Dunn. All of the staff have been fantastic - they have been so helpful and incredibly responsive. The kids club was perfect for our 3 year old - he had a great time there and did so many interesting activities! We would highly recommend Scott Dunn and plan to return!

The first thing you notice is the viewits everywhere! The hotel occupies an amazing position perched on the side of the Adriatic with views over to several Islands all worth visiting including Lodpud and Sipan. Ignoring the cumbersome structure of the main hotel, the Sun Garden Residences stretch along the hillside, largely blending into the surrounding villages. Spacious, modern and ideally suited to families, the residences boost a surprisingly functional but attractive kitchenette and bags of living space. Our Two Bedroom Deluxe Sea View also benefited from a very large terrace with more amazing views of the Ocean, more than justifying the extra cost in my opinion.

Traveling out of season does often mean you dont get see properties at their best and whilst many areas of the hotel were still getting started you definitely got a sense that main public areas, particularity the main promenades, would have really buzz about them in peak season. There is undoubtedly more than enough within the hotel to keep most guests occupied however, this hotel is all about Dubrovnik and the surroundings islandsour boat excursion to Sipan was a real highlight and an absolute must when staying at the hotel!

Hannah Scott (Staff)

Sun Gardens definitely exceeded all exceptions that I had for a hotel in Dubrovnik. From the moment we where collected in the airport in a new Mercedes air conditioned mini van, to the views that you are instantly immersed to from your transfer. I was not expecting Dubrovnik to be so green, but learning that it stands for 'Oak Forest' it definitely does not disappoint. The swift arrival to the hotel in a 30 minute transfer means it's perfect for families who are eager to get their vacation started.

With 2 main choices of accommodation Sun Gardens has something for everyone. You can either choose to stay in a residence, which has a between 1-3 bedrooms, a living room and a kitchenette which is great for those who like to do some of the cooking themselves. I would also recommend staying in the main hotel as they have great interconnecting rooms or suites, which is ideal if you want the family close but don't need kitchen facilities.

Giving yourself a day away from Dubrovnik and visiting the local islands is a must. You can do a day trip to Lopud Island, where the only sandy beach in Dubrovnik lies. Or why not go and visit Lokrum island which is said to be cursed - meaning no one ever spends the night there Spooky! For a bit of extra excitement, why not try the Games of Thrones tour.

When traveling in the peak summer months with older children then look no further than Sun Gardens in Croatia. Situated just 15 minutes from the beautiful Old Town of Dubrovnik and right on the clear waters of the Adriatic Sea the resort offers something for all the family. The accommodation on offer is perfect for families looking for a bit more space as the residences have two bedrooms, two large bathrooms and a separate living room and fully stocked kitchenette. They also benefit from large sea view balconies that offer fantastic space to enjoy an evening family meal as the sun goes down over Lopud Island.

During the day, Croatia offers so much to do for a family looking for more than just a beach and pool. The resort itself has a great sports center including squash and clay tennis courts, well equipped gym and a huge indoor spa with treatment rooms and a juice bar. Outside of the resort, Korkyra Concierge (who have a desk in Sun Gardens) can organize half and full-day excursions to all sorts of amazing places of interest. The most popular being the boat trips to the islands situated just off the coast where you can visit sandy beaches and small villages with lovely restaurants all offering the Catch of The Day. You can also stop off in quiet bays and lower the anchor to enjoy snorkeling in the caves whilst looking out for sea life in the crystal clear Adriatic Sea.

Jumping into your private transfer at Dubrovnik airport you pull out onto the road and you are instantly greeted by the luscious greenery that is Croatia, the road all the way to the Sun Gardens resort follows the coastline and provides you with an amazing welcome to Croatia. Incredible views across each bay that passes you then reach Dubrovnik old town, the approach is from above so gives you amazing views of the city walls. The 30 minute transfer just flies by as there is so much to see and so much beautiful scenery to take in.

The views are just as spectacular as you arrive into the Sun Gardens resort, built into the cliffs a gradual slope leads to a wonderful view of the swimming pools and crystal clear waters that surround some of the thousands of islands dotted along the coastline.

Accommodation wise the residences are ideal for families, they are huge! The Deluxe sea view residences are by far the best located and have some great added extras. Combined with huge terraces, whereby you can enjoy the wonderful views, they are just ideal. For those looking for something smaller the hotel rooms also offer a great standard of accommodation and all have great sea views.

With lots of wonderful restaurants dotted around the resort, there are plenty of options, a different one for every night of a 7 night vacation in fact! The food is excellent and when you combine that with attentive service, kids menus and a great atmosphere, it is bound to end in a wonderful evening.

The sports center is just wonderful! An ultra-modern facility it offers so much to do for adults and older children in particular, a climbing wall, mountain mike hire, a gym and also the base of the incredible Scott Dunn Kids Club. In converted squash courts lies the kids club, which is just the most wonderful space, separated into 3 age appropriate rooms the space is just filled with every toy a child could possibly wish for, a sleep room for the little ones and an outside space it is just a kids dream!

A great location for going and exploring Dubrovnik and Croatia but somewhere that also gives you a wonderful environment to relax and enjoy stunning views, excellent food and the most perfect family accommodation.

Sun Gardens is definitely a favorite of mine. It ticks so many boxes, particularly for families, and just has so much to offer. I wouldnt say its the most luxurious of the hotels Ive been to, but what it does have is a fantastic friendly team of staff, incredibly well equipped apartments, and the most ideal location from which to explore a beautiful little corner of the world!

Croatia in general is far greener than I had expected; Dubrovnik itself means Oak forest, which is definitely a fitting title. The transfer to Sun Gardens is a 30 minute drive along costal roads, giving you a chance to take in some of the scenery along the way. If youre lucky you might also find your transfer driver can double up as a bit of a tour guide, giving you some information on the islands and various villages you pass en route!

Dubrovnik old town is a 20 minute drive away from Sun Gardens, but is also accessible by a water taxi and its got to be said, the views when arriving in on the water are pretty spectacular! As much as its fantastic to stroll the cobbled streets when the sun is shining, I would say during peak travel times its recommended to venture in for the evenings when its not quite so busy. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from so you can sit and watch the sunset with a nice chilled glass of Croatian wine.

Sun Gardens itself is made up of the main hotel building and various blocks of residence style apartments. The apartments are ideal for families, offering 1-3 bedrooms, a living room and a kitchenette, but the hotel also offers some good room and suite options with gorgeous sea views.

This particular property is definitely good for anyone active; the sports center is incredibly well equipped, with tennis courts, a football pitch, volleyball, squash court, basketball, and even a climbing wall. Water sports are also available so there is plenty to keep everyone busy! For the times when theyre not out and about in resort, theres also a brilliant base for the Scott Dunn Explorers up in the sports center. The club is made up of 3 rooms filled with toys and games for every age group, and a sleep room for the little ones.

With so many sports available, as well as an award winning spa, 3 swimming pools and a good choice of restaurants, it would be easy to fill a week at Sun Gardens, but with so much to see and do locally its a great option for those who want to get their fix of culture too.

Join the Club! Luxury Tour Operator Scott Dunns Explorers childrens Club at Sun Gardens, Croatia is just 30 minutes from Dunrovnik and set on a hillside overlooking the Adriatic. With activities including a climbing wall and five-a-side football, theres plenty to keep the little ones happy.
