Description

Situated in the peaceful Stadle area of St Anton, Lodge Adler is a superb chalet with five bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.

Lodge Adler is one of the four Arlberg Lodges which were created when an old sawmill was converted in 2006. The long building was divided into four chalets, Adler, Bodensee, Christoph and Danube, to create some of the finest chalet accommodation in St Anton. While Lodge Adler sleeps 10 in great comfort and privacy, the layout of the building lends itself well to larger groups wanting to take more than one lodge - we can accommodate up to 36 in en-suite accommodation and the shared balcony has an exterior fireplace where gluhwein and canapés can be served to larger groups.

Lodge Adler has the largest bedrooms of the Arlberg Lodges and because it is situated on the valley end of the mill, it benefits from the best views of the valley and the Rendl mountain opposite.

All four lodges are similar in style, characterized by deep rich colors and a contemporary style, but maintaining a traditional chalet feeling in the wooden beams and floors. The large en-suite bedrooms (25-35 m2) are on the ground and lower ground floors. Every bedroom is equipped with wide Austrian twin beds on polished wooden floors, and a flat screen TV with DVD player. Every room in Adler has a sofa or armchair making it comfortable to relax with a good book or DVD. Two of the rooms benefit from balconies with wonderful views across the valley. The bathrooms are spacious and beautifully decorated with modern Italian tiles. The baths and walk-in showers are huge, and the Zucchetti fittings lend a highly contemporary touch.

Upstairs, the superbly comfortable open plan living space has vaulted ceilings, deep sofas and a blazing log fire to create a real chalet or log cabin atmosphere. The flat screen TV can be used to watch a film, UK satellite TV, or footage from the day's skiing.

Please note, the industrial kitchen (staff only) is shared with Lodge Bodensee and is locked at night and during the day when staff are not present. However, there is a fully stocked drinks fridge, two ring hob and tea and coffee making facilities for guests to use at any time.

The fabulous wellness area is also on the top floor. The sauna is ideal for relaxing aching muscles and, out on the roof, the outdoor hot tub allows you to relax and look up at the stars in complete privacy,

Childcare

Scott Dunn pioneered skiing vacations with childcare, allowing parents the freedom to ski whilst their children are expertly looked after by a qualified private nanny. Our handpicked childcare team are qualified professionals, whose enthusiasm and nurturing abilities are in abundance, so much so that both parents and children often ask to take them home. In our St Anton Lodges, our private nannies look after children from as young as four months, making sure the entire family has a relaxed, fun and memorable vacation. They organize age appropriate activities and can take the older ones to and from ski school, allowing you to spend all day on the slopes. A nutritious lunch is served each day, as well as healthy snacks, with any dietary requirements taken into account and your child’s routine will be strictly adhered to. We can also provide a wide range of equipment for babies and toddlers on request, including nappies and wipes, usually free of charge. And if you’d like to go out in the evening, we can arrange babysitting.

All our Scott Dunn nannies are fully qualified (CACHE trained or similar) and are carefully selected for their natural ability with children and their nurturing and fun approach. We provide rigorous pre-season training which includes a first aid course, and working alongside our chefs, teach them how to prepare nutritious snacks and lunches. Available for five days a week, they ensure your children enjoy a range of activities, whilst adhering to their home routines. They can also take children to, and collect from ski school each day.

Activities

St Anton is just one part of the awesome Arlberg. The excellent snow record combined with such an extensive area means it should be high on the list for any good skier. The backcountry potential is such that a guide is essential if you wish to do more than scratch the surface. While the terrain can be challenging for those with only a few weeks’ experience, the Rendl area offers some easier runs and plenty of sun.

Aside from the skiing, St Anton exudes character and charm and the Tyrolean hospitality is not to be missed. The village itself is what Alpine villages should be like and there is a wealth of good restaurants shops. St Anton is famous for après ski and the Mooserwirt and Krazy Kanguruh are world-renowned.

The wellness center, the Well.com is highly acclaimed and there is masses more to do, including walking, rock climbing, ice skating, sleigh riding, curling, tennis squash and plenty more.

Location & Directions

St Anton, Arlberg, Austria

The Arlberg Lodges are situated in a quiet residential area in the Stadle area of St Anton with views of the Rendl mountain opposite. The Lodges are approximately 12 minutes' downhill walk to the village center and ski lifts but getting there takes less than 5 minutes with the Scott Dunn driver service.

When to go

St Anton has an enviable reputation for its snow. The Eastern Alps frequently benefit from early snow and the largely pastoral terrain does not need a hugely deep base to offer great skiing conditions. As a result, St Anton frequently offers some of the best skiing in the Alps in December and January. The microclimate means that snowfalls are more prolific than in many other resorts and with plenty of skiing above 2000 meters, conditions can be great right up until late April.
