Average time to visit

It is very difficult to predict the weather in the United Kingdom - in the summer from May to late September is generally seen as the most pleasant time to visit. Rainfall is difficult to predict - but the UK does not receive as much as many are led to believe! In the winters, temperatures do fall, but there is nothing better than finding a remote pub with a roaring fire to sit beside after a long walk in the country.

Kinloch Lodge is the perfect stay for those looking for an unparalleled dining experience on the island, natural beauty in  all directions and a peaceful place to connect with the Isle of Skye.  Kinloch Lodge is a perfect jumping off point for day trips to the Fairy Pools or Trossachs, but also on the estate itself are some unique experiences. Mitch, the go to activities leader here, showed us an amazing time when foraging just around the grounds of Kinloch. Though we were not at peak bloom season, he was still able to discover naturally occurring items that one could eat or should definitely avoid.. The best time to go is in May when the mushrooms are surfacing and everything on the island is flourishing. As well as foraging, you can go on wilderness walks and try fishing. After a day of adventure, indulge in a divine dinner experience. Well known for their legendary chef Marcelo Tully, dining in Kinloch Lodge is truly an event and the team come up with a new five course menu each day to offer to guests and are happy to modify it in any way to guests preferences so as to ensure the best possible dining experience.

Located on the Eastern edge of the Isle of Skye, Kinloch Lodge is easily accessed and it is would be a fantastic addition to any Scottish itinerary. Macrcello Tully, the resident chef of the Michelin-starred restaurant, offers tasting menus that will rival any meal you have ever had. The hotel is warm, friendly, traditional and in a stunning location. Some of the rooms are feeling tired but the ones in the new building are fresh and spacious and many have stunning views of the sea loch.
